The extensive menu offers some of the city's most delightful--and otherwise hard to find--Japanese dishes. – The Scene
Seki serves great sushi in a great location, so it's usually packed. If you come during prime hours, be prepared to be rushed through your meal by waiters who favor efficiency over manners. The quick meals, however, make this a great place to grab dinner before going to the Tivoli or COCA.

The Food
Seki is a great place to branch out and learn a little more about Japanese cuisine. The menu is extensive, moving from the standard sushi set to specials such as deep-fried flounder--the whole fish, which you break into pieces and dip into ponzu, a citrus-flavored soy sauce. Try the wonderful unaju, eel served on top of rice. The extensive list of appetizers also offers some gems such as agedashidofu and kushiage. Another good thing about Seki is the complimentary appetizers, like boiled edamame and vinegar-cucumber salad.

Seki - an honest review – I don't know about the negative comments from one of the recent reviews. I've lived in the area for the last ten years and have considered Seki to serve the best sushi in St. Louis. In addition, two Japanese native friends have voiced Seki as their favorites as well. I eat Japanese fairly often and find Seki's fish to be fresh everytime. However, my bill adds up to around $50 a person. Also, the service is pretty quick, but one must be aware of the somewhat rude waitress. ...She is much nicer than one would think. If I were comparing this restaurant to an equivalently priced restaraunt in any coastal city, Seki like the rest of the Japanese establishments definitely would not fare well.
