Will never call this company again. Was told by the owner that they don't have time to ask if the washer/dryer are stacked prior to coming out for service (after the service call, of course). It wasn't possible to diagnose the issue since they were stacked. One would think a professional organization would ask appropriate questions in preparation for a service call. Not according to the owner. Next call will be to a pro, not Mid America...
Great service from local company. – So thankful I purchased repair service insurance on the appliances I ordered in a new house. Mid America has serviced these appliances when I needed and done so quickly and professionally. They have even offered advice on which appliance brands have fewer repairs. Great company. I appreciate the call ahead 15-20 minutes before their arrival.
Worst Company EVER!! Do NOT call them!! – Do NOT call this company. They have the worst technicians and customer support team I've ever spoke with.
They came to service our refrigerator and made the problem worse and then stated it was not their problem and that I need to call the manufacturer.
Saved My Day – I'm have a catering business on the side and my oven broke. I called Mid America Appliance at the recomendation of my sister in law because I had a party to cook and bake for on Friday. A technician came out the next day and said that the bake element had burnt out of my oven. He went out to his truck and came back with the part I needed for my oven.
It worked and now I'm back to baking for my party on Friday...so thankful, you have no idea.
I think this is a good company and are definetly going in my phone book. Many thanks to the technician that save my day and my catering.
Samsung refrigerator repair – They fixed my Samsung refrigerator on the first appointment when another service couldn't fix it after coming to my home three times.
My ice maker wouldn't make ice and another service company out three times. They replaced several parts but the ice maker never made any ice at all.
I called Mid America because my confidence in the other service company was gone. Mid America came out and repaired a part on the ice maker and it's made ice ever since.
I really wish I would have called them first because now I have several days of vacation that were wasted.
I've had a very good experience with this company and will definetly recomend them to my friends and family.
Beware (the positive reviews were created by the business) – beware after paying $80 to have the man look at the fridge he had no clue how to disassemble it to see the frozen fan and almost broke the plastic in half jerking on it before I asked him to stop and look up how to disassemble it. After he looked it up he laughed at himself for being so stupid he said.
I had to sit and watch the entire time just to find the screws that were flying out all over the kitchen floor. He then used a blow dryer to melt the ice but held the unit directly to the ice. I was worried he'd electricute himself so I suggested he hold the dryer a little further away so he didn't electricute himself and he replied "I do that all the time hehe!" I told him nicely that I didn't want that happening in my house and he just waved his hand at me and said it would be fine.
He had no clue what was wrong so he called Samsungs customer service department and told him the problem I was having that I described to him. They gave him their best guess what was wrong and what part I needed to buy. I paid $80 for him to call Samsung?!?!
The part needed is $20 but they want me to pay $267 for what will take15 minutes. It's basically unscrew the back, pull out the old part and plug in the new one. This was our experience, I hope you read this review before calling this company and putting your faith in them
Horrible Company!!!!!!!!!!This is my second review – Once again had a horrible experience with Mid-America. Waited TWO WEEKS to get my washing machine fixed and was told it was fixed. IT IS NOT FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This company is horrible, terrible and many other not nice things. So, called again and was told the same thing as last time. It will be another week before someone can come look at my "fixed" washing machine. Please please please no one use this company. They have horrible customer service.
Amazing Experience!! – Had an issue with my fridge. Called into Mid America, and they were able to squeeze a tech in the same day. Was a nice surprise for me. When the tech arrived he was very professional, and was also careful with moving the fridge and the items that were near by. He was able to fix the fridge in a timely fashion. He also advise me that there was a recall on my model. He was able to fix as he had the part in his truck. Was a very great experience, and will recommend to everyone.
Good service – I have used Mid America Appliance several times now and I've always apperciated the service I recieve. Yah they do give a window of time mornings 8-12 or afternoons 12-5, I am ok with this because I realize I am not the only person in the world, they are a business and have other customers too. When the tech came to fix my washer, (next day service from the day I called), he explained to me everything he was doing and the problem was caused by a baby's sock that was stuck in the pump, he also told me that was why it was not draining and if I have any additional problems I might need a new pump and gave me an estimate. I'm glad he didn't just say it needs to be replaced cause I haven't had any other draining issues since. He also gave me some advise on HE soap to use and how much, I never knew about oversudzing the unit. I was happy to pay the tech for the s/c and labor because of the excellent service I recieved.
I was happy that they call before they come out it lets me know when they are about 15mins away and I can put my dog up.
I have use them for my refrigrater and dryer too and got the same excellent service ,
I know I can trust them and their service and feel fair of their fees, If you price around (which I have done) you will see they are along the same rates as other servicers.
No show – So my brand new dryer ( I ran 2 loads of clothes through it) is not working.. I call Maytag Monday and they arrange for Midwest to come out to take care of my problem... but they can't be there til friday between 12-5. Best we can do they say. I begrudgingly accept..and my parents who live next door will be home so they will meet the guy.
Dad calls me at 3pm. Well the guy isn't here yet, he says. I ask if they called Midwest.. no they haven't. So I look up the number and call.
The answer I get is oh well we tried to call your home number and when you didn't answer, we didn't come. BUT we can get someone out NEXT THURSDAY AFTERNOON. REALLY? THAT'S how you do business? Now I have to go 2 weeks without being able to use my brand new washer and dryer?
I am very displeased with this company and Maytag will be getting an ear full from me too.
