Good for Brunch and Private Parties – Scott's hosted my birthday party in their private room. The room is very nice and bright with skylights, a great place to eat during the afternoon. Food was good overall for a fixed menu. We had some initial problems with the reservation, but the person my husband was in contact with for the private dining reservation resolved all of our issues.

Horrible! – My husband and I had reservations for 6 pm on a Saturday night prior to attending a concert at Segerstrom. We were seated promptly. The restaurant is very loud and it is had to have a conversation without raising your voice. Our server was Kirsten. We had a glass of wine each and had a bottle with dinner which we did not finish. I had the ceviche and my husband had the wedge salad, both were good, not outstanding. For our entree, my husband had the whole snapper and I had the scallops. The fish was good, the vegetables surrounding were undercooked and charred at the same time. The plate not arranged in any artful fashion just kind of "plopped" on the plate. When my scallops arrived the plate was set in front of me on top of my silverware so the plate was very noticable lop sided, the person who delivered just look at both of us and had an oblivious smile. Before booking dinner here I looked at the website which showed numerous pictures of the menu items, all beautifully and artfully plated. What a misrepresentation!! There were 4 scallops 2 large and 2 much smaller and actually falling apart. The "mess" of undetermined vegetables (never could figure out what they were) again just "plopped" on the plate along with the scallops sort of in the middle. Sauce was horrible. The yucca was so dry and rubbery you could not even chew. The scallops were fishy tasting and rubbery. I only ate 2 of the 4 and nothing else. Our server, Kirsten asked how our dinner was, told her about the scallops and she just gave us that oblivious smile, made no comment and walked away.

On the way out, stopped by the bathroom. No toliet paper, except what was strewed across the floor along with paper towels, water on counters and floor. I haven't seen this kind of a mess in a bathroom since my college days going out to "dives".

Outstanding – This is the best seafood in the area. I've eaten at all the highly recommended seafood restaurants in Costa Mesa and this is the best. It's definitely pricey. Tuna or sea bass will run you $35. Soup or salad are an additional $10 - $15, and drinks are in the $10-$15 range too. But if you want a really nice restaurant, with nice decor, a nice atmosphere and outstanding seafood, it's definitely worth it.

YUMMMMY! – I hadn't been to Scott's for awhile and recently had lunch with my friend. All I can say is YUMMMMY. The sole was heavenly, it melted in my mouth. Everything was prepared beautifully and tasted so fresh. I loved the new decor (very comfortable yet trendy). If you're like me and haven't been in a while RUN (don't walk) and enjoy! I think this is truly one of OC's gems! Check out their 1/2 price Wed. wine (great place to hang out on Wednesdays)

New Scott's – I had a wonderful seafood lunch at Scott's. They've completely remolded the restaurant. The atmosphere is elegant, chic and very inviting. The food and service were excellent. They also offer live music after dinner. I have always enjoyed Scott's and with their new look, there is another reason to go back and enjoy a wonderful meal.

Great place for a business lunch – Seafood is terrific here, but even if you are not a fan of seafood, they have a great menu. Reservations are a must at lunch, but Scott's is a great place to take a client to lunch. They will be impressed.

A seafood oasis brings South Florida style to SoCal suburbia. – The Scene
From the moment you walk up the palm-tree-lined walkway, you'll be transported to Palm Beach. The open dining room, in soft pastels and enclosed by glass walls, only adds to the "Miami Vice" vibe. The well-dressed, suburban crowd, however, brings you back to Costa Mesa.

The Food
Although the kitchen does pleasing renditions of meat and pasta dishes, it's the impressive selection of seafood that draws devoted diners to Scott's. Start with the jumbo shrimp cocktail, four mammoth shrimp served over a delicately spiced gazpacho, or the crisp house Caesar. For entrees, the baked, Chilean sea-bass sake kasuzuke, an Asian-inspired concoction, literally melts in the mouth. Citrus, bourbon salmon also shines, with just a hint of sweet orange flavor that doesn't overpower the tender fish. For dessert, there's a light and fluffy chocolate souffle, but the berry-bedecked creme brulee is especially good.
