I wouldn't trust my pets with anyone else but Dr. Pattberg.

I was googling County Seat to send a Thank you card for how Dr. Pattberg treated my dog and us when he had to be put down and was disappointed by the negative things that were said. My dog babies have never had another vet but Pattberg and he has always taken excellent care of them. When we were on vacation in FL and Drake got his neck cut while at the grandparents house, Pattberg stitched him up, kept him overnight and didn't even charge us for the overnight kennel stay. In 13 years, he has seen us through everything - even when our baby had to be put down recently, his bedside manner and compassion was something I will never forget. I can't tell you how many times we have called him, and brought in our dog babies in to see him for little things and haven't been charged for anything but tests done or medicine given. The staff have always answered our questions and often were called by Dr. P himself. If you ever need a vet for your babies, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND County Seat animal hospital. I won't take mine anywhere else.

This is one of the Best animal hospitals I have ever seen. Here are our family's experiences. FIRST my daughter's baby (labrador mix) got parvo, which is a deadly disease for dogs. Dr. Pattberg treated him for several days knowing there was slim chance of his survival. He called my daughter daily regarding his condition and even allowed her to stop by after her work and class hours to visit. Her baby pulled through... Dr. Pattberg charged her very little and explained there were no guarantees of this puppies survival and he allowed her (a young college student) to pay him out in increments. (Who does that these days) Mostly all you here, is CASH UP FRONT!

This sweet dog is now almost 2 years old and very healthy and happy! Then SECOND, our family dog- a 13 year old rescue dog we have had for 11 years was hit by a car. She is an inside dog but slipped out the door and straight into the road. We took her to the HORN LAKE ANIMAL HOSPITAL at 7pm on a friday night, I had to put up a $250 deposit before they would even see her. They did 2 x-rays, and musseled and shoved her in a kennel. Later that night, we took her food and a special toy to help her feel comforted, she was still musseled even in the kennel. She is the sweetest dog ever and has never bitten anyone EVER! I tried to tell the stupid vet this and he was a complete smart tail to me and didn't give her toy to her at all. The next day we picked her up, he did nothing else to treat her injuries and charged me an additional $185 before releasing her. Told me to take her to our family vet in 10 days if she wasn't better! So after $400 and ten days later, We saw Dr. Pattberg and his team, who gently sat in the floor with my sweet dog and loved on her as they treated her injuries. Right down on her level and she wasn't even nervous with them. She had to have a front leg removed because she wasn't healing form the accident. He only charged me $600 for 2 days stay and surgery and medications. He allowed me to pay it out in increments. And just a week after this surgery- Our personal world went haywire. With my daughter having a baby in Memphis while my son has an appendix attack, we had kiddos at two different hospitals at once. And the day after they were both released. My son's dog- lab/boxer mix started having seizures. This dog is 8 months old but weighs 65lbs. My son could not lift or handle him due to his surgery, so I take this dog to see Dr. Pattberg. Again, he calms Drake by sitting on the floor with him, runs tests, gives medication, and tells my son he will keep him there for an extra couple of days so my son could rest and get better himself. He took care of Drake for three days and only charged my son $98. See that- Just $98 plus medications, plus tests, plus hospital stay. This Dr.and His Amazing TEAM of animal LOVING professionals are the best in Desoto County and I would recommend them to ANYONE!

I am still quite upset by this negative – It's Dr. Pattberg, not Dr Patterson, as someone below said. This person who knows me well enough to comment but not well enough to even know my name. Just saying...

I felt the need to write a review due to I have firsthand experience with Dr. Pattberg and his staff and my heart was broken as well to read the negative review.

Dr. Pattberg and his staff are amazing people and caregivers for our animals. We have had two cats – Harley and Crazy (now at rainbow Bridge) that Dr. P and his staff took care of for years. NEVER ONCE in all the visits was he or staff worried about money - it was always about the animals, their health and maintaining their wellbeing while getting old. The staff is always on hand if I need to call and ask any questions.

Dr. Pattberg is one that you can trust every word he tells you! He is one of the finest vets I have ever met! He is a caring and honest person!

He fixed our rescue cat, never once did she have an issue- nor did she come home with pain meds! She did just fine.

I can also testify that his prices are by far less than other vets in our area.

So, for others reading this, please do not let one post ruin your judgment of Dr. Pattberg and his staff.

We highly recommend Dr. Pattberg!! – We have been taking our pets to Dr. Pattberg for six years now. His office is clean & comfortable and has that small town feel. His staff has always been pleasant.

Dr. Pattberg has always been compassionate and taken time to advise and direct us on the well being of our pets.

Recently, on a Saturday our Shi-Tzu fell ill and Dr. Pattberg stayed late working on our dog. Our Shi-Tzu did not make it despite his efforts. Losing a long term pet is losing a part of the family. Dr. Pattberg met with us and passed on any charges that afternoon.

Later in the week my wife called the clinic to take care of the expenses. Dr. Pattberg refused to be compensated. Remember, he spent alot of time with our pet on his day off...

This is not the first time he has offered his time and resources...including medication w/out accepting payment.

We really appreciate and feel blessed having a vet that shows the compassion for our pets and our feelings that Dr. Pattberg does!

Will never never never use again!!!!!! – I was looking for a vet closer to my house. I saw an ad for this vet and looked him up, his web site seemed that he loved animals so I took my little dog to him. They said it would be good for him to get fixed, I had been planing to do this so I let them do it. BIG mistake when I picked him up I asked about pain meds, He said " He will be fine he doesn't need it". I took him at his word. I also was shocked to see he closed him up with staples. When we got home, my little dog pulled out one of his staples, I called the vet they said " He'll be ok. HE wasn't ok, the vet didn't give me a cone to put around his head so he couldn't lick the staples. NO pain meds and NO cone. The next day my little dog was shaking from pain and the staple he pulled out got infected. Took him to another vet to treat him. I was supposed to go back and have staples removed, thats been over a month ago and I still have not heard from this vet so much for loving animals.

Very Unhappy Former Client – I few years ago, I relocated to Hernando from Memphis after my marriage and sought out this veterinary office to care for my cats and dogs.

From the very beginning, my husband and I were treated rudely and this veterinarian and he did not appear to us to be concerned about our pets but certainly did care about money. I have owned cats, dogs, and ferrets for over 35 years and, in all of these years, I have acquired much knowledge and experience in caring for cats and ferrets. At that time, I was uncertain about care for the three dogs in our family as they were newly acquired. One was a rescue. Two were puppies. The rescue needed help. We wanted to help. This vet was more concerned about the cost than helping the rescue. We did save the rescue but found another veterinary clinic.

Recently, our veterinary clinic began closing on Saturdays and our 6 year old Scottish Fold needed Clavamox for an URI in order to help with the symptoms and begin to eat again. We did not want to wait until Monday. So, my husband asked the veterinarian if he would help our kitty and rather than request that we bring in the cat, give us the medication, or call in a presciption, he "blew my husband off" by saying, "we are out." Really!?! This veterinarian lied to my husband. He should have told him that he needed to see the cat to dispense proper medication according to the law which we found out later at another clinic in Horn Lake. No, he just lied to get rid of my husband. He knew who he was -- or could it be that he decided since we were clients of another clinic, our cat did not deserve help.

We ended up seeing a wonderful vet in Horn Lake who was compassionate and professional to us. The value of this clinic in Horn Lake is outstanding and their staff, wonderful. We will continue to use this office in the future -- we will just have two vets now! I have posted two excellent reviews on this clinic.

I will continue to recommend other vet clinics as I have been doing for these few years....I thought that I would give Dr. Patterson one more chance.

Further, I am an active member of local rescue and many people who have adopted from me or that I meet in the community ask who I would recommend for vet care...I don't refer anyone to this clinic and NEVER WILL!

My husband and I treated Dr. Patterson with the utmost respect and we did not receive it in return when we were clients.

By the way, Dr. Patterson, our annual vet care expenditures EXCEED $3,000.00!

Great Place for Pets – County Seat Animal Hospital is a wonderful place to take your animals. The doctor, Brent Pattberg, is so caring for every animal. You can tell that he really enjoys what he does. The staff is wonderful. They are always friendly, efficient, and happy to help.

Also, my vet is the only hospital accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association in the entire DeSoto county! (as of this date) This means they follow over 950 specific medical guidelines. I was amazed when they told me about it.

They offer high tech responsive medical care at an affordable price. I'm never taking my dog anywhere else. Period!
