If I could eat out every night. – This is the best place to go for any occasion. The staff always makes us feel welcome like going to your best friends house for dinner. I wish it could be my second dinner table I would eat at Amerigo every day if I could.
Living up to its reputation of being great – I recently ate at Amerigo for the first time. I had heard many good things about the quality of the food and service and figured why not give them a try. The food was excellent and our server went above and beyond. I would recommend trying the tiramisu, it is the best I have ever had.
Best Food in Town!! – This has to be my new favorite place to eat! For $10 I got a drink, lunch special, dessert and it covered the tax and tip. Wow, that's the best deal I've ever heard of! I can't wait to go back!!
You gotta go eat here!!
One of my absolute favorites in The Jackson area. – I don't get to the area that often, but when I do Amerigos is where I want to go. My favorite is the Sea Bass although they don't always have it. It has always been cooked to perfection for me. If they don't have it I order the Filet which is also excellent. The artichoke and cheese dip is to die for as far as I am concerned. The service is also right there at the top with the friendly staff. I highly recommend Amerigos to anyone wanting a delicious meal anytime for lunch or supper.
Best Restaurant in Jackson – I made my first trip to Jackson on business and asked at the hotel where the good restaurant were. She told me Amerigo. Great recommendation!! This place looks really small, I guess it has been around for 20 years. Wow, the food and service was great. My server was Megan and she did a great job taking care of our table. We tried the Cheese Fritters, which I understand Amerigo is famous for (which explains why the are so good). I had the Filet for dinner and my wife had the Cedar Planked Sea Bass. Both prepared perfectly. We had the new Creme Brulee cheesecake for dessert. It was the best cheesecake I have ever had. Overall a great experience and a place I hope to visit again.
Average food – The service here is very quick - gotta like that. Our bottle of wine was brought out right away, as well as some hot bread with some tasty parmesan crust on top and olive oil and herbs for dipping. Strange that an Italian restaurant would have chicken & sausage gumbo for a soup of the day, but I tried it and it was decent, although a little lukewarm. My wife had the Ceasar salad which was ok, though the croutons could have been more homemade-tasting. For entrees I chose the veal saltimboca and my wife had the artichoke and 3 cheese pizza. The veal comes on arugula (why??) and I added angel hair pasta, but I could have done without the arugula (sorry, but I'll order my salad separately!). The veal is stuffed with ham and sage, and you get two of those, with some very herby red sauce. It was okay, definitely very filling. My wife liked her pizza, but she said, "where's the artichokes?" She was only able to finish half, but couldn't find one artichoke (come on, they're not that expensive!). I tried a piece of her pizza and was turned off by the cheese or white sauce or whatever it was. Very strange taste. It's definitely not a tomato-based sauce, so don't get this if that's what you like. Our waitress was very friendly and accomodating. The ambiance, although dimly lit, is not exactly romantic, as many of the tables are very close together. Overall, I give it an average rating.
Cedar Wood Roasted Double cut Cured Pork Loin Chop is excellent – This is my second time there and I have ordered the Cedar wood roasted double cut cured pork loin chop. The first time it was excellent, the second time it was very good. I bellieve it was overcooked the second time.
Jimy Meyers (sp) was out server and he was excellent
Fresh Italian Food/Pasta Wonderful! – I have eaten at the restraunt for about 12 years now, and it is still one of my favorite places in Jackson. They have changed the menu up a bit, but I highly recomend the chicken margarite in cream sauce. They also have the BEST tarimisu you will ever put into your mouth. Also ask if they have the eggplant/crawfish appetiter its not on the menu, but if they have the brown sauce they will make it for you and its devine.
Get there before 7pm.
Great Food – Great food in a casual elegant environment. Appetizer is simply irresistable (cheese and artichoke dip) and their fillet mignon is awesome. I highly recommend this restaurant.
