Reviews for Roberta's

A sprawling, citadel-like space in the farthest reaches of Brooklyn, this bushwick pizzeria has grown into one of the most adventurous and exciting restaurants in New York City.

Brick oven pizza that makes the out of the way location worth the trip. The Spudnik & Voltron are very good bets.

Cheesus Christ this place is good (actually one of their pizzas). It's the best kept secret in Williamsburg. It's a cool place with a back area with a tent and bar while you wait for seating (yes the place can be crowded). You'd miss the place unless you were using your GPS. It's just a door with a curtain, with a cement wall along the sidewalk. That's what makes it pretty cool, and hilarious bringing first time visitors. The prices are a little higher, but the pizza is outstanding. Take a friend here!

Yes, that is one of their pizzas, which is probably the best on the menu, loaded with multiple cheeses, black pepper, and honey. The place has a cool atmosphere, and the entrance literally looks like a hole in the wall. It's a giant, lively place tucked away on a dark street. There's two bars, and plenty of good beer on tap. It's a little pricey for a pizza place, so going with friends definitely eases some of the bill. It feels more like a tavern than anything, quite hipster, but still good. They're open late and deliver. This is a great place to bring someone who is visiting Brooklyn. Unique and tasty.

Sable fish, pickled onions, pumpernickel croutons, mascarpone in a salad. A flavor nod to Danish openfaced sammies but Brooklyn in design.

An oasis of culinary cool in Bushwick. – Though initially conceived as a pizzeria in a desolate part of Bushwick, Roberta's soon grew into a locus for everyone in the area who cared about food; as a result, the pizza is perhaps the least interesting thing about the place. Owner Carlo Mirarchi is constantly experimenting with the ingredients, many of which he grows in his backyard. A pork chop might come with faro and stinging nettles broth one night, and something else another. The place is a no-frills cinder box bunker, but the excitement is impossible to miss, especially among the locals--who know they've found a true hidden gem.
