Worst Spa Experience – An incredibly disappointing spa experience. Yesterday, the 28th of July, I went for what I thought would be a good experience, a full leg/bikini waxing - perfect for summer. When I got there I was less than impressed. The employee did not introduce herself. When I was led to my treatment room I was disgusted by what I saw. It was a less than sanitary treatment room, there was dried wax on the sheets - who knows the last time they were washed. She then gave me a towel to sit on. I have had waxings before and know that the skin should be sanitized first with an antiseptic of some sort - this did not happen. Instead she tried selling me on all her other services like lash tinting, eyebrow threading, pedicures. When she began the waxing of my lower leg she dipped an applicator into a giant vat of wax and then ripped off the wax with the same strip of cloth. This seemed less than clean, and it got worse. Double dipping, ever hear of it? She continued to dip the same applicator into the wax repeatedly. All I could think about during this was who else had she done this to, and how unbelievably dirty this seemed! I got to the point where I just couldn't take it anymore and asked her to stop at the knee instead of doing the full leg/bikini and thank god I did. Not only did she spend more time tweezing the hairs out of my leg, but when I left most of the hair on my lower leg remained! I couldn't believe it! Once I told her I wanted her to stop at the knee she agreed but still tried to get me to let her do the bikini. It was by far the worst $45 I had ever spent. But I was raised to be polite and gracious and to not be rude, I said thank you tipped her and left with a forced smile on my face. My legs were so red all day, which she called "chicken skin" and would go away. I was left with sticky wax on my legs all day. What was probably the most horrifying thing was waking up today and looking at what I thought would be smooth legs to find pimples and whiteheads all over my lower legs. I can't even begin to tell you how disgusted and mortified I am. I don't even know how to go about treating this. I am supposed to be out in the sun enjoying the summer this weekend and instead I now need to cover my legs because of the reaction I had from this botch wax job. I guess I should thank God I had her stop at the knee, I don't even want to think about having this reaction on my entire leg and bikini area. Your website and I quote says, "We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry." What a crock of BS this is. If that's the case I should be given a full refund for this "service" and an apology. I would never advise any of my friends, or foes for that matter to walk into this "spa" for a service. I would rather pay top dollar for something that I know will be clean, and sanitary and worth the money. It would be in the best interest of your company to refund my $45 onto my Mastercard. I can't even believe how my legs look today. Yesterday was definitely not a pleasant or relaxing experience. I apologize for being so irate and leaving such a crass email, it is not in my character, but I just cannot get over this whole experience.
