FIND ANOTHER PLUMBER
I had Triangle Plumbing come out for my water heater via my warranty company.
After confirming that it was in need of replacement, my warranty company informed me the water heater unit and install were covered but there would be over $600 in "modifications" that Triangle Plumbing said were needed. Unreal, no way has code changed to the tune of $600+ in a home 12 years old with installing a comparable unit. I ended up taking a cash payout from my warranty company and taking my business elsewhere. The plumber I ended up using provided a unit, installed it, and did the modifications for $760! Yes, that was just a $160 more than what Triangle Plumbing wanted for their "modifications" alone. It makes me sick to think of all the customers they have taken advantage of. This company is seriously lacking ethics. I can't believe they are still in business.
DANGER - DO NOT USE TRIANGLE PLUMBING
Triangle Plumbing is one of the most unethical companies we have ever interacted with. Their customer service is completely nonexistent, even after speaking with Jaime (the supposed owner). If the actual owner does not care about customer service, much less their business image, why should employees.
Like previous reviewers, we were referred to Triangle Plumbing through our home warranty provider, probably because real customers would never hire Triangle Plumbing since a trained monkey could not only do a better job but also would not provide you with BS excuses (since monkeys can’t talk).
From March 2014! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY- We were forced on them from a Home Warranty Company. No written estimates provided, verbal estimates kept changing, going up! Prices were very HIGH. The person in the office is extremely unprofessional and rude. STAY AWAY! I cant understand how they are still in business.
AVOID THIS COMPANY. I have never been treated so unprofessionally in my adult life. I called with a dispute regarding what their technician told me about the extent of repair that would be performed. While a gentleman named Andrew was somewhat helpful and at least professional, I had the misfortune of speaking to the owner's wife Jamie. Now, every story has two sides, but consider this: Even if I am completely wrong about my complaint, this woman belittled me, called me a liar, put me on speaker phone so that other employees could gang up on me along with her, LAUGHED at me, and told me she would pray for me (why you ask? Because this was her way of further demeaning me to make me feel small). She also told me that I would not succeed in a legal action....before she knew I am actually an attorney. I will make sure to spread this word far and wide to every person I encounter. No company who treats people this way should get anyone else's money.
ABSOLUTLY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! And the person making appointments is VERY, VERY RUDE and CONDESCENDING!!! They don't know how to help people with plumbing concerns!!
This company did a great job for me during a kitchen and bath remodel, including replacing both bathroom valves, hooking up a dishwasher etc. Last month my water heater went out (leaked), and they replaced it with a good quality (Bradford White) WH, also replaced the expansion tank and drain pan and advised me to get a second water alarm for the floor by the washer/dryer (first is kept in the drain pan). I've had several different plumbers do the work and all have been very pleasant and professional. The office manager can be less than effusive in her customer service orientation so I would look for a bit of improvement here. Overall I'm very pleased with the work they did.
This is a horrible company. Do not think about using them. There are so many other companies to use in the triangle. On July 21, we had a leak in our bathroom and the water was coming down our drywall. I called our home warranty service (American Home Shield- also a horrible waste of time) who contacted Triangle Plumbing and Backflow to do our work. The plumber did come out as an emergency and took our $75, but then used plumber's putty around the bathtub drain and cut a 8 inch by 8 inch hole in our ceiling. He said he fixed one leak, but needed to send an estimate to the warranty company to approve additional work.
Keep in mind, he was sent to fix an emergency leak. HE DID NOT. He said the next step would be for his company to contact me within two to three days. I waited four days and called them myself. I was told this was wrong and needed to talk to American Home Shield.
I tried making contact for three days and finally was able to make contact and was told that Triangle Plumbing had never sent in an estimate to the home warranty company.
I contacted Triangle Plumbing again and they told me it would be $295 to fix the additional repairs. I asked for a written estimate and they refused to send me one.
I fired them immediately and threatened to speak with the plumber's licensing board about them. The owner jumped on the phone and cursed me out and hung up on me.
Long story short, I was able to work on the problem myself the next day and found that it was simply the bathtub overflow had come loose. I went to Home Depot and paid $3.00 for a tube of silicon.
Now I am out $75 to Triangle Plumbing and have to repair my drywall myself. What a waste of time of money.
When I explained the situation to my family, even my 13 year old daughter asked if the overflow should have been the first thing the plumber looked at. WOW, what insight. Maybe she should work for Triangle Plumbing. Maybe then they could do a quality job.
Once again, never hire this company and throw them out of your house if someone else sends them. My situation will probably end in a lawsuit against them, but I hope this warns people about them prior to the outcome.
Provider was supposed to install a 1.25 inch gas line from my gas meter to my backup generator located on other side of house. Job required trenching, obtaining permits, passing inspections, running the 1.25 inch gas line, connecting line to gas meter and generator. Approx distance of 110 feet.
How'd it go? Here are my experiences with this company:
It went only part way.
* Triangle Plumbing did do the trenching.
* Triangle Plumbing installed a 3/4 inch gas line instead of the 1.25 inch line previously agreed to.
* The generator requires a 1.25 inch line to operate properly in event of a power failure.
* Installer was shown the generator installation guide which specifies a 1.25 inch line.. Installer said "the book is wrong."
* In addition, I called the manufacturer to verify and they too stated that 1.25 size line is required.
* PSNC energy gas technician also stated that 1.25 inch piping is required to meet the generator load.
* Triangle Plumbing insists that both the manufacturer and PSNC energy are wrong.
I even received this email from the manufacturer:
You AT THE VERY LEAST need 1.25. Our chart is extremely clear and should be very self explanatory to any plumber that understands this. This is GENERAC STANDARD.
If any questions, concerns, or whatever it may be, please contact me anytime.

I refuse to accept this 3/4 inch gas line, that it is not what we agreed to and Triangle Plumbing has been told this on multiple occasions. Triangle Plumbing was informed prior to project beginning that line was to be 1.25 inches and has been told several times that the 3/4 inch line is not acceptable.
Triangle Plumbing refuses to replace the line.
Since no progress has been made on a resolution, Triangle Plumbing has been told to recover the 3/4 inch line that they installed. Triangle Plumbing has not done so and after three weeks of excuses and arguments from them I have a 110 foot length of unusable pipe and an uncovered ditch in my back yard.
Since I have already paid 50% of total cost of this project, apparently provider has decided to abandon project and just keep my money.
Triangle Plumbing has failed to complete this project, meet my needs as a customer and prefers to argue than to make it right. The work done to date is unsatisfactory and incomplete. No attempt to resolve this matter has been made by Triangle Plumbing except to say I can have a Cary inspector come out and inspect it.
I am extremely unhappy and do not recommend this company as it is clear that the owner does not care about meeting agreements. I have emails to back up my claims should anyone wants copies.
This is BY FAR the worst plumbing company I have ever dealt with. They are absolutely shameless about taking your money up front, doing shoddy and incomplete work (my leak actually got WORSE after they left!) and giving you a scathing response if you attempt to resolve the issue.
I would not EVER give these jokers access to my home again. A third-rate operation that exists only to squeeze you for as much money as they can as quickly as they can, then stonewall you when you call back (unless you are stupid enough to pay them even more to fix the issue that THEY created).
This is why you should never pay a plumbing company up front...
I had two issues with them. The first involved payment. They expect payment before the job is done. I told them I would pay after. The afternoon they finished, they demanded I come down immediately to pay or they were going to file a lien against my home! First off, they would never be able to do this so an empty threat but secondarily, I could not drop everything and be there as it was a rental property and I wanted to inspect things first. Very unreasonable.
Secondarily, they left the yard in an absolute shambles. Everything ripped up, ditches, unreplaced shrubs, ground uneven everywhere. I had a landscaper come by and he said he had never seen anything close to this. The response of the company was that they did not quote for landscaping work! I would call it cleaning up after myself.
I could not recommend them for these two reasons. Price wise, they seemed competitive and the plumbing work itself is okay as far as I know but their other practices are horrible.
