Worst excuse for NY pizzas and calzones – This place doesn't deserve any stars in my opinion. I called to order a calzone and a salad. They have a Build-Your-Own Calzone, and they told me that they come with mozzarella, ricotta and parmesan, then you can add four more items with the build-your-own. I said just add extra parmesan, extra ricotta and sausage. When I received my order, first of all, the calzone was burnt and flat. Inside, you could barely see a little bit of melted mozzarella and ground sausage. I did not see ANY ricotta cheese or parmesan cheese. I called to tell them, and the guy who claimed to be the manager had a major attitude with me. I told him my complaint and he argued with me that the calzone was fine. He then proceeded to tell me that the reason you couldn't see the ricotta was because it had melted. Give me a break!! His attitude made me more angry than the lousy order. I asked to speak to the owner and he told me that the owner probably wouldn't call me back and he refused to give me the owner's name. He told me he wasn't allowed. They offered to give me a whole 15% off my next order. No thanks! I won't be ordering again. I am from NY and this is definitely not NY pizza or calzones. I had ordered pizza from them previously and it's definitely not NY style pizza. This was a poor excuse for a calzone. I couldn't believe how they treat their customers. I have never heard of such a thing. What about customer service??? I looked up the owner's name on the Colorado Secretary of State website and it is Khan Nguyen. I am seriously considering writing to this person, however considering who he lets run his business, and the other reviews, I doubt I will get any satisfaction. Well, we know the owner is definitely not Johnny...... Try Guido's pizza in Genessee - that's the best NY pizza I've found in Colorado. Definitely worth the ride up - right across the highway from Lookout Mountain..... I take all of my out of town visitors there for a great pizza.
My search for a decent pizza continues... – Sunday evening, 9/12/10.
Tired of plastic DominoBlackjackHut corporate pizza had high hopes for this little neighborhood pizzaria.
No joy. Got attitude on the phone from the order taker - "gonna be 30 - 40 minutes, dude. I'm alone and I gotta keep answering this friggin' phone." Hmmm...well, a good pie is worth the wait and hopefully the comparatively high price he tossed me.
I arrived 30 minutes later to an empty parking lot and in the restaurant found 4 sullen 20-somethings lounging about on the counters and work tables.
They seemed annoyed by my appearance, but one of them eventually shuffled over to the cash register and glared at me until I asked if my order was ready. Apparently it had been for a while, as it was the only order in the place.
The boxed pie was plopped in front of me, money taken wordlessly and the budding future executive listlessly wandered back to his lounging spot.
S'ok, I had jobs I didn't care about when I was a kid too...
Got home and dug into... a really crappy, stale, rubber crusted, sorry excuse for a pizza. No surprise, huh?
My search for decent pizza continues...
