Living Spaces Furniture, Van Nuys Store – I've not written bad feedback before but today's experience just left us so unhappy. We were supposed to buy and pick up a sofa sectional today from the Van Nuys store. From 3 previous visits, we were never told that same day pick up meant ordering the item the day before for pickup no earlier than 12noon the next day. We were told by 3 salespeople that no problem, sofa was in stock and we can come in buy and take it away that same day - we were told this just 2 days ago. Lo and behold, we came today and was now told a different story. The problem was their attitude. No apologies for the wrong information provided to us. No accommodation whatsoever to find a solution to our dilemna. Based on another person's comment, the problem is that they don't work on a commission basis and therefore don't really care. Even the Irvine staff who we spoke to on the phone were lacking in customer service. With attitude like that, we'd rather spend our hard earned money elsewhere. I'm not buying anything from this store.
very bad customer service – Horrible, horrible experience. We bought a bedroom set for our child on 7/13/2011, spent a lot of money. Sales person Sergio was very rude, we asked for the supervisor 3 times and 3 times were told that he is the supervisor and there's no one else available besides him. He didn't care about the purchase, didn't care about the sales, because they are not working on commission. By the way, the cashier he took us to, was very arrogant and condescending. Overall, very unpleasant experience.
Too bad there's no such thing as "minus star" for the rating
Customer Beware: Return Policy is a scam – Bought a sofa with significant wear and tear. Spoke with Manager, customer service and everyone told me the same thing:
- upon purchase - with pickup - I waived all of my return rights including warranties
- upon purchase - even with store delivery - I can only exchange the item, cannot get a full refund
- In my case, they flat out refused to consider any remedies even without reviewing my order or offering to inspect the damaged sofa.
Each person I spoke with from the company, rehearsed the same scripted responses above, which leads me to believe that this is not a one bad store, but rather a corporate policy.
Of course, I can sue them, or dispute with my credit card, but it is a waste of time. I'm only hoping that this review will help the next person from being victimized from this company. Horrible, horrible customer service. Stay away.
