Please...consider someone else before your rent from this company. Their customer service is awful...not nice AT ALL.
1) Waited about half an hour for shuttle to arrive and get us from airport to take to an off-site location several miles away--yet you are still charged AIRPORT FEES each day?? Came into to an EMPTY lot of cars...
2) I now waited another 30 minutes in the waiting area. I had originally reserved a full size car for $104....now I was being told there were no full size cars available--I could wait 45 minutes while new tires were being put onto a full size vehicle at some shop somewhere else--really??--or could downgrade...to the one Toyota Corolla that just rolled into the lot to be returned. I'll take the downgrade please, and ask "So how much will that be?" "$149." WHAT?!? I'm being down-graded yet up-priced?? After a lot of complaining on my part...FERNANDO did agree to honor the originally quoted price of $104.
3) PART 2--I returned car at about 8pm without incident, went to the airport, flew home to northern Ca. Early the next morning my friend realized he had left some clothing in the back seat of car...I IMMEDIATELY called the next morning--spoke with someone named VERONICA who was very rude, didn't have the time of day for me--kept me on hold (not a toll free call) for over ten minutes. I CAREFULLY described what was left in the car, she supposedly found it and told me if I wanted it, I would have to pay for shipping (which I already knew, but she was not nice about it at all)
12 DAYS LATER I receive a package that was shipped via FedEx 2 day--why so expensive--not like it was a rush at this point--AND I RECEIVED THE WRONG ITEMS!!!
CALLED yesterday to see what happened, spoke with JUSTIN, they took my number and I have YET to receive a call back---
THERE ARE JUST BETTER PLACES OUT THERE___NOT WORTH THE "DEAL" IF YOU CAN EVEN CALL IT THAT.
I love using TravCar, they pick me up at my condo whenever I need to rent a car. Lowest rates around and great customer service. They require a deposit like all other rent a car companies, but I get it back when I return the car.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE – DO NOT USE THESE rude people! I reserved and paid in full a car reservation 2 weeks before was supposed to pick this car up in order to get a good rate. When I got there, I waited in line for 30 minutes, and when it was my turn, they refused to take my Visa card, which was a uald Visa/debit card. I called my bank who assured me it could be used as a regular Visa. Travcar wanted to double my rate. I refused and walked out without a car. These people are rude and bait and switch. BEWARE!!
First class car rental company – I was referred by the concierge at my hotel. They picked me up on time, and in a few moments I was in my car.
The guys at the counter were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I will be using them whenever I visit San Diego.
