Not worth it – We stayed there our wedding weekend. First, I booked my spa appointments two months in advance and then called two weeks prior and they had no idea what i was talking about. I had to change all my plans around what they could do. The guy on the phone was sooo rude!
1st night: The food was only okay and all tasted the same. If you HAVE to smother all the meat you serve in cheese and mystery sauce- it can't be that good. The bartender takled to us about how annoying customers with kids are for about an hour. We do have children, by the way. Sorry to be such a bother.
The SPA: Our $400 couples massage was not even as good as the ones you get for under $100 at massage envy! The amazing shower they all told me to try was broken and the nozels all fell off and cold water flooded me when I turned them on. Nuts! How relaxing after a steam, right? Then my make up appointment was a joke! The poor girl was so overwhelmed by how terrible the makeup was she could hardly stop shaking. They had told me they didn't have time to do a wedding make up appmt, so I got the "quicky" and then she was amazed no one had told her this was my wedding makeup. She did not have the correct tools and the makeup was the worst product I've ever seen! I had black smeareed all over my face and she had to keep rubbing it off with a terry towl which made my eyes so red and puffy, everyone who later saw me thought I'd been crying all day. The "foundation" powder was so heavy, I looked like Tammy Fay Baker. FYI- my eyes were actually peeling and sore for two days after this. (Great for wedding photos, by the way.) She actually had to call in an esthetician to try to help clean up the mess and get to her next customer. I was 45 minutes late meeting my hair stylist which thankd god I booked from elsewhere.
Then they were going to send room service "right down" with champagne and strawberries. . . After we called 4 times, they finally showed up 3 hours later. We ended up missing dinner because we showed up 1 minute till closing and they wouldn't let us in. (it was a BUFFET for valentine's day) Understandable.
Then we had the valet call golf carts to take us (with friends) out to the grounds. Giving them $20 tips, we asked that they come back in 30 minutes. Nope, we were all standing in the freezing cold forever. Called the front desk with our mobile, and finally got off hold and someone showed up a while later.
Check out: we call down to have someone come get our bags and car from valet. an hour and a half later, we called back and someone showed up shortly. By then our car had been reparked and we had to get it ourselves.
Seriously? this was a 2 day $1500 mistake!
Nice Romatic Getaway – I treated my girlfriend to a weekend getaway for her birthday and scored some major points while being pampered with great service, long hikes, and the best couples spa at Spa Django. The spa was an amazing experience with a steam room, sauna, and a great pool with a jaccuzzi outside. We topped off the night with a campfire outside and a bottle of wine.
Amazing restaurant!!! – Stories restaurant has to be one of the best restaurants in Austin! My wife and I came fromAustin to have a romantic weekend and where blown away by the food. Everyone from Austin needs to come and check out this place. The staff was very professional and the food is on par with the driskill or any of the other high end places downtown.
great quick getaway – this is a nice place to go for a quick getaway.....it has quite a few amenities to offer on site.....the pool is great, very attractive and fun.....good for families as well as couples....only drawback was that food was mediocre at the bar and buffet restaurant.....rooms are very nice.....the resort itself is nicely removed in a very private and remote area......great customer service and friendly, helpful staff......i inquired with the front desk about how i could possibly purchase the shower gel provided in the rooms, as it smelled very nice.....and to my pleasant surprise, one of the receptionists gave me a bag full of at least 15-20 small travel size shower gels to go!!! and she still asked me if there was anything else i wanted!!!! excellent service, though rooms are priced on the higher end......but you definitely get what you pay for!!
Best Hotel in Austin area, impeccable level of service – I really enjoyed Lost Pines. I stayed a Thursday through Saturday. . I loved the restaurants, bars, activities and amenities. . We ate at the Firewheel and the food was great.
Buck's at the pool is great as well, with barbecue from around cetral texas - I enjoyed a Shiner, service was great everywhere at the resort.
I love spa Django especially the steam following a massage. The lobby of the spa had a great ambience and private pool areas too.
Incredible to work with – I worked with the catering staff to plan a very important dinner that my company was hosting at the hotel. They were so patient and helpful while in the planning stages, and the dinner ended up being an incredible success because of them. The hotel was able to set us up in a great cabin on their property, and I heard wonderful feedback from my colleagues who attended. It was a fantastic event for us which would not have been as great if it weren't for the staff here. I don't think I could thank them enough. Those who attended the event also said that the hotel was everything you could ask for--clean, great service and staff, very comfortable. All in all the catering staff has made me 100% loyal to the Hyatt brand. Well done and thank you!
