HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! – I just recently moved to the midtown area and did as much research as I possibly could to find a good groomer for my Standard Poodle. I am a VERRYY precise person when it comes to my baby being groomed and always give exact instructions on what I want done. I have had plenty of horror stories with a couple of other places in Atlanta, and decided to take my dog to Glamour Paws after reading all the great reviews. Now when I first arrived to my appointment, one of the girls went to get the groomer Sarah. She was very nice and went over everything I wanted (she even had a sheet that she took notes on which I can't ever recall anyone else doing to make sure they have exact instructions!) The time frame she quoted me was very reasonable about 3 hours which was great. When I came back to pick my baby up, he looked FABULOUS!!! I must say I was impressed with her skills, and she did exactly what I wanted..imagine that! She did a lot of hand scissoring which is not easy, and he smelled great! I felt like I could put him in a show ring, he was so cute and fluffy : ) I will definitely be taking my dog back Glamour Paws and highly recommend to everyone...Thanks Sarah!!
Customer Service Adds Insult to Injury – An utterly miserable experience. Since I was a little girl I have wanted a pure bred Afghan and I got him seven months ago at around 5 months. Xavi is now a little over a year. It goes without saying then that I did some considerable amount of research before I narrowed down the choices, and, after more discussions my fiance suggested that we go to Glamour Paws. Turns out he had spoken to a groomer there named Candy and she had turned him on to some useful information concerning Afghan training, so he felt that she would know her way around an Afghan.
FACT: Just because someone has knowledge of the breed, useful information on training, obedience, etc. does not mean they are capable of grooming your dog. Or so we learned. Read on.
Candy took her time. We dropped him off at around 4, and when we showed up to pick him up at 8 PM we were asked if we could wait another hour; that was fine with us. We picked Xavi up an hour after closing, and I was so happy to see him I hardly paid any attention to the trim (my second mistake). We left; my fiance leaving this woman a $30 tip, on top of the $150 they had charged us.
The following day I let Xavi out of the crate and realized something- the flowing white patch of hair he'd had on his chest was GONE. In a panic, I rolled him over only to find the most ****ed up shave I had ever seen. She had unevenly AND shoddily shaved (some patches were long, some close to the skin) the entire white patch of hair on his chest all the way down to his crotch (which, by the way, was NOT where ANY of his mats were)- without permission, without calling to give us a heads up. Nothing. (To add insult to injury, when we went back Candy had the gall to lie and say that she showed us the shave when we picked him up, and then say that since we weren't showing the dog, the haircut shouldn't matter. Um, why, exactly, did we just pay you $180 dollars then?) Not only that, but she didn't even have the consideration to shave ALL of the white off- she'd left three random tufts of white hair in the front, just hangin' out.
We scheduled an appointment to speak to the owners, Nicole and her husband when my fiance got back, so that we could both take the dog together. When we showed up, they called Candy out from the back. Nicole's husband immediately started in on us aggressively by asking in an accusatory tone: "had we or had we not spent 20 minutes discussing the cut of this dog with his groomer before we dropped him off?" Which threw me off. What relevance does this have to the matter at all? And regardless of the fact that we HAD taken pains to communicate what we DID want, we had NOT gotten it in the end. The end product spoke for itself, did it not? Our dog was butchered.
He then proceeded to tell us that she "worked her heart out" (I suppose it takes hours to sit on your a**) for our dog, staying after hours (um, did we not have to wait to pick up our dog as well?), and, after we showed him that she didn't even have the consideration to shave him evenly on his chest he had the gall to suggest that that could easily be remedied by letting her take him in the back to "even it up." Wait. Let me get this right. You mess up my dog's hair cut and then expect us to trust you to salvage what you couldn't do right in the first place? At the end they had the nerve to ask us what we thought they could do about it (when we had made it clear beforehand that the least they could do is give us a refund), and, ultimately, after a painful 20 minutes, refused to give us the entire refund.
I live in Inman Park, and I know we are a strong-knit community; I strongly beseech anyone here in Atlanta to boycott this business. They may have won acclaim in California, but their groomers here in Atlanta are deplorable, and their "customer service" adds insult to injury.
Loyal Customer Disappointed – I have been taking my shih-tzu to Glamour Paws since I got her. I raved about Glamour Paws and their grooming (from their mohawks to their dye jobs to how great she smelled for a week after getting groomed!). However, the last two times I've taken her there, I have been extremely disappointed. The groomer was very sweet, but I am not sure she knew what she was doing. My shih-tzu was groomed like a poodle one time, and this time, they didnt' even cut the hair on the top of her head. Also, she didn't even smell clean when I picked her up this past Sunday. Her ears had definitely not been cleaned.
I was told that Julia Smoot, the groomer that used to work with her, had left the store. I looked her up on LinkedIn, and she has done a great job fixing the job that Glamour Paws did last Sunday.
I was a huge fan of Glamour Paws, but I'll be working with Julia moving forward.

ProGroomer Julia doesn't tell the whole story – Hmm, is it unfair working conditions or discrimination to expect an employee to work when scheduled -- or at least to say they couldn't make it?
I understand the owners of Glamour Paws thought they were being considerate by NOT telling people this "ProGroomer" walked away and just phoned in her resignation AFTER a poor performance review. I don't think they're holding their breath waiting for your return, ProGroomer Julia.
My dogs have NEVER looked better than after a visit to Glamour Paws. Prices are based on the animal's coat condition, size, etc., and are very reasonable.
I'd suggest you give them a try and judge for yourself.
Great store and staff! – I took my yorkie to Glamour Paws for a grooming today! The staff was very welcoming and warming! I love the decor and the merchandise in the store. Zoey has a fresh haircut and she looks great! I will be back again next month!
horrible grooming experience – My long coat chihuahua now looks like a short shaved jagged nailed mess. She is on a heating pad right now. I HATED and I know this is a strong word but HATED everything about this grooming experience. The refund will not help my poor little pet's hair grow back. She looks like a totally different dog. I will post photos everywhere I can so you can see how seriously wrong this is. Please don't try to complain because you will get a tongue lashing and told off! I was so excited to try this place, too. Horrible experience. They put them and leave them in the kennel and have blowers dry them. For $45 and up come on a 4 lb dog you can't quickly warm them up and dry them? They left her crying in the kennel and seemed pissed that I was bothered by this.
Wonderful Experience! – I took Marley in to get groomed and the staff all remember him by name and was great with him. They gave him treats and he looked better than ever. Glamour Paws certainly adds to the charm of the Virginia Highlands and is my favorite pet boutiqe in Atlanta.
Cute Store – I really love this place because it is in my neighborhood. The store is very charming. I have taken my dog to be groomed and they did an excellent job. However, it was the most expensive groom I have ever come across. It cost more than my own haircuts. In sort, nice but way expensive.
Elegance, for the high class canine. – In Short
Located on N. Highland road, this high-end doggie boutique specializes in pooch-pampering supplies such as rhinestone-studded dog collars, Juicy Couture outfits, top notch FAA approved dog travel carriers, and dog treats that read closer to a menu at the Ritz than a milk bone box. A full-on bathing area is located in the back and boasts high- off-the-ground tubs, dryer tables, and grooming areas with everything you need to clean up Rover. Events such as Thursday “yappie hour” parties serving free wine (cocktail-shaped treats for the pups) and red carpet photo shoots certainly prove that Glamour Paws happily embraces the Beverly Hills-esque glitz and glamour.
Love Glamour Paws!! – I am so excited that Glamour Paws has opened in Virginia Highlands. The owners are really nice and speak to everyone who comes in. I am really excited about their self serve wash on Sundays! I also love the assortment of healthy treats and chews for my pup. He loves them all!! Highly recommend!
