I wish I had read he previous reviews prior to buying an express deal directly from Beleza's website, as I would have certianly saved my money and spent it else where. Much like previous reviewers I had a similar experience. You can find more reviews on yelp for their previous location that are the same.
While it is possible to get an appointment, they make it quite difficult. When I purchased the deal I purchased it for myself as well as, a friend for a girls afternoon out. They are unable to accomodate more then one person at a time. Which becomes a challenge, but can be accomodated if you have the time. The first attempt to make an appointment, I was rudely told to do so through their website. I explained I was trying to set a time for two people at once. This seemed to have burdened the person who answered the phone but none the less made the appointments. Several days before our appointment (which was made several weeks in advance)my friend received a phone call that our appointments were canceled as the salon would be closed to attend training. My sister is a stylist has been in the beauty profession for 10 years and there is plenty of advanced notice to attend trade shows and trainings, this information would have been known well in advance of the booked appointment. However that is not all, they had originally booked the appointment the wrong day and called my friend harrassing her for not showing for her appointment which was made in error on their part demanding money because she didn't cancel. That is strike two. In order to finally get an appointment that worked for them we ended up having to take time off work. As it seems they aren't really open the posted hours.
Now to the appointment it self. Same attitude you get when you call is also the same welcoming reception when you walk in the door, less then enthusiastic. I paid $29 for a mani/pedi and brow shaping. You get what you pay for folks and I would say that I am less then happy with the outcome. For $35 I can visit the shop near home (without all the hassle and I will going forward). My advice would be to do it at home yourself as I could do just as good of a job on my own. My nails were not filed evenly nor were my toe nails and I have had to go back and retrim and file them. The polish bubbled (not allowing enough dry time between coats) they don't soak your fingers. The water in the my foot tub was so hot that I literally looked like a lobster for several hours. My friend and I walked out saying thank god we used the deal and we won't be back.
I thought the point of having specials is to drive traffic, gain clients to improve over all business. This apparently not so for this shop they are just unprofessional rude and really do a poor job.
I bought 2 Groupons for pedicures in April (1 for me and 1 as a gift) and called several times to schedule an appointment for a pedicure but they never had any availability because they only have 2 technicians. I tried calling in August to schedule an appt in Oct but was told they don't set appts more than 30 days in advance and was advised to call exactly 30 days before the date I desired. I set an alarm on my calendar and when I called in I was told they were already booked with 'regulars'! If they were 'regulars' then seems they would have known this in advance. The receptionist was rude and when I said I would contact Groupon about a refund she said, "Ok" and hung up on me.
Also, my friend was never able to get an appointment either so I requested both vouchers be refunded. I think the receptionist was unprofessional and it's not good business to sell vouchers if you don't have adequate staff to accomodate. I will take my business elsewhere!
Very unprofessional! I went to my appointment last Saturday, and when I arrived they told me that they couldn't take me. The person there was pretty rude and told me she doesn't do highlights on Saturday (even though they scheduled my appointment for Saturday). They called my home at 11am to change the 11:30 appt, but I had already left. It took ~30min to reach my destination, and to get there and for them to handle the problem on their end in an unprofessional manner is uncalled for.
Get rid of the head phones – Visited on a Thursday morning thinking that I should be out in about 2 hours. Took 4 1/2 hours. Asked for a bob cut, said I did not part my hair and wore a ponytail. Got a chopped up shag, with a part, and a response of "I don't know why you were holding on to it anyway". Decided not to panic and see what the reactions would be from others. By the way people stared at my hair, I knew the cut was less than flattering (bad). Main problem was the stylist spent too much time on the phone "taking care of business" when she should have been concentrating on the customer's concerns. I'm assuming she must have enough customers already so one bad cut wouldn't hurt her business. Disappointed because it had good reviews on other sites. While the shop was clean and beautiful and the staff were smiling and polite, I would not recommend it nor will I return again.
Best Layers Cut Ever!!! I looked awesome - felt so great!!! – A friend of mine had recommended me to this Salon and to Carlos as a stylist... after me admiring her hair :)
Carlos was prompt to recommend some changes to my request and I went with his suggestions... it turned AWESOME... I loved it. My husband was with me at the time also and he loved my cut/styled hair so much - that he decided to get his haircut by Carlos as well... We will be back for sure. He is awesome. Convenient location, ample parking, great prices... great talent. Thanks Carlos.

I am so glad that she had the idea of bringing me to a real salon and stylist, and no longer my one-size-fits-all type of haircut that I would get at Super Clips...
I must admit that I was uneasy at first (being a man) and coming to a salon, but I had the best experience ever... I am so glad I came here to get my haircut... Carlos was my stylist. He had just came from NYC as he shared from some continuing education classes and he must have put in practice some of that new learning on me... every one in the salon wowed my haircut... Carlos even shaved my neck with a razor... like old time barbers... It felt sooo good to have that area shaved. Rest assured that I will be back !!! Thanks again Beleza Team, thanks again Carlos.
One of the best Hairstaylist in Durham! – Carlos have done my hair since he started his career at the Paul Mitchell Academy, this is trully a gem of a hair stylist! Carlos is always so professional and caring, he takes the time to hear all your concerns and questions, makes sugestions about your hairstyle based on your lifestyle and habits! so few professionals in this field do that!!!
I am always looking forward to my next appoitment with Carlos, because he will make sure I am happy witht the results of whatever he does to my hair. He has been with me from haircuts, to high lights, to new style and I could not be happier with my hair!!
Carlos is very knowledgeable about his workfield!!!!!!
Awesome Eyelash Extensions and Brazilian Keratin Treatment – If anyone in the triangle area looking for a great place for eyelash extensions and keratin treatments.....this is your place Beleza. The staff their is wonderful and did a great job. This is my second treatment at this studio and the results are great.The staff is very educated on the treatments.
Best Highlight and Cut – Love my cut and color ..........I showed them pictures and they did a thorough consultation and the results was awesome. Thank you guys and love the team work. I always end up with red color and I was pleased to see the results without red. Thank you Trixie, Sherrie and Carlos. You guys are awesome.
Terrible customer service – I went to Beleza salon this past weekend for a highlight/low light. I have had my hair highlight this way for sometime. When I explained what I wanted my hairstylist went to discuss what I wanted with his manager. She came over and told me that I had not had my hair done like this. I was shocked ( at this point I should have left) Manager was very confrontational. Another girl came over and smoothed things over. They said it would be no problem. A highlight which usually takes 1 1/2 hours ended up taking 3 1/2 hours and when all was said and done they had done my hair completed different than what I wanted and how they wanted to do it. I will never go to this salon again and I hope to get the word out so that others don't experience this horrible customer service
