So horrible – The worst food I ever had in half moon bay
Great view and fresh seafood at this local favorite. – One of the oldest restaurants in Half Moon Bay's Princeton Harbor, this perpetually crowded seafood shack banks on a long menu, speedy service, and solid sightlines. The tinted-blue windows, blue tablecloths, and 90-degree views of blue ocean turn the inside of this tightly packed restaurant into the cabin of a submarine, while the breezy front deck gives diners a taste of Half Moon Bay's notoriously overcast skies. There are several senior-citizen specials at Barbara's, so the clientele skews older, but the 50 bottled beers on the menu also draw the younger surf set. While the fish and chips and clam chowder are the big draws here, the restaurant also offers more upscale (and high-priced) fare like cioppino, whole lobster and crab, and seabass. After a slice of homemade key lime pie or coconut cake, walk south to the other side of the harbor to catch one of the area's best surf spots.
