Citysearch Editorial Review – Unless you're working with a trust fund, your experience with custom couture is probably limited to cutoff jeans and screen-printed t-shirts, but at Mi Concept designer Dean Hutchinson has set a new standard for semi-custom clothing that is accessible to every age and credit line. The appointment-only showroom's white, decoration-free walls function like an art gallery's in showcasing Hutchinson’s clean, simple and sexy prêt-a-porter pieces, which are edgy enough for young hipsters while basic-chic enough to be classic traditional wardrobe staples. In a subdued palette of black, navy, grey and white come modified military coats with bundled collars for chic-rockers of both sexes, handmade leather jackets paired with bouncy cotton scoop necks, all conspicuously devoid of label, logo or other branding. Other items feature simple patterns in the fine cotton, linen, silk and distressed leather occasionally blended with viscose and spandex, darted and tailored in ways to make no-flash fashionistas foam at the mouth.
