According to Chinese legend, Sui Ren was a mythical being who discovered fire, making it a fitting name for a restaurant whose strength is its grilled skewers. Chef Jun Hiroshima’s menu, however, is Japanese, not Chinese, and includes a variety of izikaya- and yakitori-style dishes like slabs of Berkshire pork belly wrapped around quail egg, tender duck breast covered in foie gras cream and sweet black pepper teba wings. Inside, pendant lights illuminate a sleek, intimate space perfect for groups of multicultural 20-somethings and romancing couples looking for an inexpensive night out.
