Italian & French-style cuisine w/a Mediterranean theme. Great selection of cocktails + local, French and Italian wines. The beautiful, spacious outdoor patio (w/ fire pits) is a welcome respite from the hustle & bustle of downtown.
The main draw of this downtown hotel restaurant is the great daily happy hour (4-6pm) and fantastic patio--tucked into the stylish Hotel Modera's living wall-shaded courtyard, it's got several elegant fire pits that allow you to keep your coveted outdoor seating long after the evening chill has set in.
A large outdoor patio with 3 long rectangular fire pits set the mood for chill evening complete with good food, drinks and desserts worth the guilt. An ideal location to hit up pre or post show at the Keller.
I went here during Portland Dining month for the 3 course meal. Super yummy - especially the soup! The roasted chicken was delicious but it is basically a whole chicken so beware :)
Nice Patio – I think this place is great for a cocktail at the bar or to lounge on the patio for drinks...the food is Ok. Not great.
Service was good.
Gorgeous place, good food, a few kinks – Great decor, good menu, reasonably priced, awesome outdoor area, sizeable bar and restaurant - all good. We were a party of six and the restaurant was not busy on a Monday night. The service was fine, neither great nor not great. The food was good, but 5 out of 6 dinners were warm, not hot. The one person with a pasta dish had a smoking hot place while those of us with steak/fish had lukewarm meat. The steak I ordered was tasty (it was actually chargrilled not pan fried like so many places do) and cooked accordingly, but had been left to sit too long before being served. I am assuming this is a working out the kinks issue for a kitchen may not yet in full sync. But being relatively slow I would've expected more.
Riviera-inspired resto revitalizes business district dining. – The suits and ties of the downtown office scene have found a dining destination in Nel Centro’s upscale-casual dining room. Bright blown glass lamps adorn a light-filled room, where reclaimed wood tables and a classically Northwest bar add simplistic touches. The cuisine straddles the line between French and Italian, with chefs drawing inspiration from Genoa and Nice. Genovese Minestrone, salad Nicoise and stuffed pansotti noodles in a lush walnut sauce all make menu appearances. For dessert, housemade ricotta fritters (just think of them as warm, sugar-dusted donut holes) and a lemon semifreddo are sublime.
