Reviews for Rootstock

Straightforward wine and small plates help make Rootstock one of the most comfortable wine bars. It's dark and cozy, and focuses on small production wines.

Cozy, friendly wine bar and resto from the guys behind Webster's Wine Bar. Start with the Werp Farms lettuce salad, move onto the to-die-for hanger steak with black kale and pair it with an Austrian Pinot Noir.

A total gem of a wine bar with sweet service and amazing food. Try the brunch; the menu change weekly and is packed w/ seasonal goodness.

Laid-back Humboldt Park wine and beer bar with gourmet food. – Burgeoning Humboldt Park needed a chic, unpretentious gathering spot, and one visit to this relaxed spot confirms that the young, tattooed neighbors have embraced it with a passion they've reserved for their very own foodie hang. Communal tables with mis-matched chairs and walls adorned with local art set the scene to peruse the epic beverage list, which provides lovingly written tasting notes on each small-producer wine and craft brew. The savvy staff is happy to suggest a pairing to complement eats from the well-edited menu. Beyond cheese and charcuterie, there are snacks like beer-battered onion rings with harissa dip, plus more substantial plates like flatbreads with seasonal toppings.
