A bit disappointing... – In reading other reviews, I expected this place to be cute and a good place to meet with friends to discuss business.

First if all it is very small, narrow and dark and unlike what is listed on their website - they are NOT opened from 11am. It seems they open only after 5PM, except I guess on weekends. We walked in and it was not exactly welcoming either -- the person there was annoyed that we came at all. I guess it may be good for cheap wine and late night snacks, once you get to know the management there and they like you. Otherwise, maybe it would be better to choose another place to meet friends.

DIAMOND IN THE RUFF – This was a great find, perfect for midtown since there is nothing like it in the area. Food was great and not expensive at all. Been back twice now and consistence of service and food keeps me coming back.

Great Atmosphere – Who knew that they have places like this in midtown. With all the bars in the area it was the first wine bar with a dowtown feel no attitudes food and service was awsome. the chef serves you the dishes . I loved it.

Just What Midtown Needed – I read several great reviews and was a little hesitant to go. but it lived up to the hype, the staff was friendly and the wine and food was great. Very laid back and homey feel. I will be back.

A tiny spot with solid food and a vast wine selection. – Housed in a former bodega that’s been stripped to reveal lovely, original brick, this Tuscan-style tasting room has an eclectic rotating wine list featuring varietals from small-yield wineries around the world (Spain, Chile, France, California, New Zealand and Italy). Whether you order by the glass or by the bottle, everything comes in the right-sized, right-shaped goblet and is served at the right temperature. If interested, call on sommelier Michael St. George--who worked at Wine Enthusiast magazine before joining Cello--for a thorough description of available selections. Neighborhood spirit, tasty eats and cushy banquettes make up for the sports-tuned TV, and combine to deliver a pleasant overall experience.
