Great view, nice ambiance, but since they reopened the quality of the food wasn't so great. The sushi was average it used to be better. Now we have to look for another sushi place in Lakeway.

False Advertising – After our local Chamber of Commerce posted a 1st Monday of the Month offer of 1/2 off all sushi at Mizu on their FB page, my husband and I went for dinner on Monday night. The Mizu manager refused to honor the 1/2 off offer. He said they stopped doing that in April and they have no control over what is posted on the Chamber's FB page. He was unapologetic and unfriendly. His poor customer service just lost a regular customer. We will not be dining at Mizu anymore.

Great Food and Beautiful Restaurant with a View. – We went to Mizu Prime Steak and Sushi to celebrate my husband's birthday. To start we both had the mixed green salad which was made with fresh greens, orange segments, cucumbers, overnight tomatoes with roasted leek vinaigrette dressing. My husband had the prime filet which was cooked to perfection. Along with the prime filet there were truffle mashed potatoes, oyster mushrooms, and asparagus with a demi-glaze. I usually do not like mushrooms; however, the oyster mushrooms were delicious. I decided to have the Alaskan halibut which was wonderfully seasoned. My livornese potatoes were cooked just right and the seasonal greens were fresh and tasty. To end the evening we both had a deliciously rich desert. We enjoyed the great food and magnificent view and will be visiting Mizu again.

good at first, horrible now – We went to Mizu when it first opened in the new location and were very pleased. In fact it was our new favorite restaurant. However we went again last night and it was awful. The menu had changed, the portions were tiny and yet the prices were still high. Our waiter was uninterested and uninformed about the menu. We had a salad, ribeye, two sushi rolls and desert. It cost $150. and I almost choked when paying the bill. Add to that the cost of a babysitter and it was an expensive and dissappointing experience. We actually left hungry. We asked for bread and they hesitently brought 5 thin slices of french bread and a dollop of butter. The $9 salad consisted of 8 leaves of lettace and store bought croutons. The sushi portions were laughable and the ribeye was thin and small. We are going back to sullivans for steak and mikado for sushi.

Sushi joint reinvents itself into a bistro steakhouse. – With a glut of kitchy sushi joints and staunch sets of old-school steakhouse already peppering the landscape, undergoing a metamorphosis to combine classic Japanese cooking with rich, upscale bistro fare was a good idea. The space--a free-standing modern cabin with a massive windows--is airy and modern. The location is pure Texas Hill Country complete with breathtaking views. This combination of traditional luxury with clean, contemporary design spills over to the menu. Edamame anywhere else would be dull or plain, but not here, where it's sauteed with garlic and wine. Nosh on creative and traditional sushi, or on whopping prime filets, duck confit, steak frites or even po-boys. Also on site is a micro-garden from which daily greens are procured and rushed to the table.
