Best Gym In Santa Monica!!! – This gym not only has some of the best personal trainers around but they offer numerous classes like Boxing, Yoga, Beach Boot camp and always seem do be adding new and exciting classes to the schedule!

I love the fact that its a boutique gym!!! I'm always greeted with a smile and a friendly hello! EVERYONE from the personal trainers, front desk staff even the cleaning crew is friendly. (obviously a plus!!)

PROS

- Always SUPER CLEAN!

- Friendly staff and Amazing personal trainers!

- Great selection of classes to choose from (not to mention the kids classes they offer)

- The high ceilings and open area always makes for a enjoyable workout!

- Good music!!! (if you're not feeling the jams they are always willing to put something you enjoy on)

- Very nice new equipment... They also have an amazing little machine the "InBody" Body Composition Analyzer this makes keeping up with my fitness goals easy!

- EASY PARKING!!! (where in LA is this ever the case?)

one and only con-

- Only one location... I wish there was one on every street corner.

******** All in all I absolutely LOVE this gym ( I would highly recommend this place to someone who is seriously looking for a gym they never want to leave!)***********

Awesome – I have been in the Santa Monica area, north of Montana now for 6 months. Ive been looking for a gym with a decent class schedule and also offering good personal training. Not really happy with the results of my search until one of my neighbors told me about this awesome gym. Wow, was I impressed. I did the boxing class with Tye, which was not only a blast but really kicked my butt. Then i did a personal training session with Danielle and I honestly can say that it was one of the best sessions Ive ever had. Ive since been going to the boxing class on a weekly basis, and also done their bootcamp and Leanin up class(which I also love), but Danielle's training has really got me in the best shape of my life. Her training is fun and strenuous, but she is very thoughtful and doesnt destroy me to the point where I cant walk out of the gym. It certainly appears that all their trainers have a good following and Danielle has told me that the owner is very particular about hiring top notch people. The gym is also a cool place with high ceilings and great airflow as they keep the large overhead door in the gym open all the time. The equipment is the best and the members are like a big family. Cant say enough good things about Iron!

Best Gym in Santa Monica – I wanted to get back in the game about a year ago so I started checking out gyms in Santa Monica near my work. I looked at 24hr, LA fitness, Burn Fitness, Equinox...high and low, from cheap to expensive.

Through all that I finally landed on Iron. It's a great facility that is ALWAYS clean. By far the best value/quality ratio for the money!

They have a really good selection of free weights, machines, treadmills and ellipticals. I really like that I can go in after work and still be able to get on the machines that I need to in order to get outta there in an hour. I had trouble at other gyms in the area with overcrowding and poor equipment selection...not at IRON.

They also keep their bathrooms/locker rooms and showers super clean. That's pretty important to me since I don't live in the area and still want to go out after working out.

They also offer Yoga and Boxing classes that are really good. One of the trainers -Woody- leads a boxing class called Boxervate that will kick you in to shape in a matter of weeks. Woody is a great guy and a real inspiration...it's really fun to get a great work out with a top notch trainer who keeps you highly motivated. And it goes by so quick! I'm in and out in about an hour. Super impressed with that class.

The staff is really nice and helpful. Lee at the front desk knew my name after the first visit and has always been super helpful and nice.

I've been especially impressed with the management as well. At $75 a month, Iron is not the cheapest gym in town. I recently have been going through a bit of a financial "restructuring" in the midst of this crazy economy and the manager and owner have been very gracious in working with me through that.

Not only is this place a great facility that the management is constantly improving upon, but the staff there are really personable and are willing to work with you.

I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a high quality gym in Santa Monica!

In a class of its own – This gym is a special place. The vibe, the staff, the equipment, the trainers, great parking, open bright environment, really unique classes, with more to come, according to mgt after the first of the year. This gym has such a great friendly community feeling and the owner keeps making the place better and better. Ive never been a huge gym rat, but Iron has inspired me to get in the best shape of my life! I know this review seems to lay it on thick, but seriously, anybody looking for a gym in West La, should give it a try and you will see what I mean.

Complete TURN AROUND!!!! 5 STARS - BEST GYM EVER – Seriously, this gym has everything you want, great staff, great members, new equipment, spacious and awesome classes.

Take it from me, I am the first to complain. I almost walked away from this place 4 months ago when the former manager decided to throw a regulation boxing ring in the middle of the place. But the ring is gone and so is the manager. I am really glad I stuck it out. Now the owner, Ken, runs the place and you will be able to tell he loves making the members happy.

I thought this gym was great before the boxing ring came along - but now they've really stepped it up a notch (seriously, to 5 star level). With the ring gone - the main level feels really spacious - and there's new equipment. Plus its the kind of equipment you only see in pro football training gyms, with pro-level trainers to show you how to use the stuff. The kind of equipment that changes the game of fitness... no other gym I have had access to has this level of equipment (I was a ACE certified pro trainer for years).

The atmosphere here is everything; the staff is really great and the trainers are not trying to "sell' you, like at other places. They take their time and really know their stuff. The boxing room is upgraded, there's more room upstairs too and the music is background level only. A boutique gym with private showers, purified water and towel service, plus you park and walk right in - what more could I want?

This gym is attention to detail at its best. Try it out, I promise, you won't be dissappointed.

Sincerely,

Peter

Great Fitness Place – This gym really works for me. It's no frills and it's truly about being fit. You park outside and walk right in. It's small enough so you can get right to your class or your equipment for a great work out. I love Woody's boxervate class!! I have kids and can only work out a couple of times a week. This class is ideal for me since he changes it around and always provide a great cardio and muscle work out. I have truly learned the methodology in boxing and it is one of the greatest all around work outs have ever had. It keeps me in my 40's feeling like I still "have it". Thanks Woody!!!

Like no other! – This gym is simply an amazing place. Iron recently got beat up over a boxing ring they installed, but have since removed and the place really rocks now. Great selection of amazing classes, that apparently they are going to expand even further. Also love the great, friendly staff and the trainers all seem top notch and very open to helping even just to be nice. One of the cleanest gyms Ive ever been in and parking is so easy. Ive made a couple of cool girlfriends from this place and it seems that this gym has created a cool little community.

Best Gym in Los Angeles! – Ive belonged to this gym for about 6 months. In all honesty, I love the gym itself, but they installed this ridiculous boxing ring, that apparently was the workings of John, who is now the former manager. The ring is now gone! John has been fired and the owner, who is a great guy named Ken, has taken over the management. As a women who has worked out in gyms across the country, this is the best of the best. Atmosphere is second to none. the equipment rocks. There is a nice big open area for more functional training, which i prefer, and they have a very cool boxing room. Parking is excellent, and the staff is simply amazing. The boxing class with Woodie is one of the most amazingly unique fitness classes ive ever taken. He is truly a very motivating and warm individual. The feedback ive gotten on the trainers has been outstanding as well.

Boxing at IRON – I've been a member at IRON since it opened. This is a great gym! The best space I've seen, not to mention the cleanest, with all kinds of high-tech amenities, as well as the basics. The personnel, trainers and the owner, John, make me feel like they are glad to see me when I walk in the door. I love working out there!

I know some people are upset at the recent addition of the boxing ring. Things may be a little out of order at the moment, but I know that IRON will make the new boxing ring feel as much as a part of the gym as everything else. Plus, it's kind of cool going to a gym with a boxing ring. Helps keep you motivated while working out. :)

WTF – This WAS a great gym and I have been a member for more than a year. I arrived for a workout this week to find a HUGE, regulation boxing ring right in the middle of the main floor. This is not a big gym, mind you, so it's as if the Starship Enterprise landed. Machines and free weights have been removed or shoved into corners to accommodate this behemoth.

I understand that they are changing their business model and in today's economy, one must do what one needs to do to stay alive. However, the space is cramped and truly unworkable.

I decided to cancel my membership. Now, they insist on charging me and additional $85 bucks because I am required to give 30 days notice. Nice way to treat long-time loyal customers and I am shouting it from the roof tops!
