LA's best kept taco secret!!!! – Everyone knows that in LA, it's all about having a favorite taco place. And Taco Quickie is by far THE CLASSIC LA taco place. It's been around forever and I swear, friends & family members alike drive from near (Commerce, Whittier, etc) and far (Fontana!!) just to taste these delicious crunchy tacos. It was sad when the main Taco Quickie place closed down right next door, but thankfully it still stayed open and just became taco quickie/quickie dog. The tacos are always the same with spiced ground beef, shredded cheese, lettuce and no tomatoes - dont even ask because they won't give them to you! ANd the hot dogs- ohmygod they are soooo good and the buns are hot and soft and that onion spicy meat sauce they put on top will just make you dream about it. I also love the 35-cents quesadillas and 50-cents sodas and fries!! Wow, I am really craving all this food now - I hope this place never goes out of business -- they would make a lot of people sad!!!!!!!

A legendary taco and hot dog mecca just south of L.A. – When in Bell Gardens, there's one fast-food joint that folks just can't miss--and it's this place. Up and running since 1965, Taco Quickie/Quickie Dog was formerly two adjacent restaurants until merging into one old-fashioned drive-thru/walk up. When it gets super busy, servers walk outside to take drive-thru orders, much like they do at In-N-Out. The 13-item menu offers a host of hot dogs (the sweet onion chili dog, stuffed between two steamy buns, is legendary) and burritos to 49-cent quesadillas, fries that give McDonald's a run for their money and, of course, tacos (hard shell only, filled with spicy meat and piled with ribbons of lettuce and finely shredded cheese). Best of all, the prices have remained decidedly old-school, with nothing priced more than $2.50! No wonder this has been a city favorite for more than four decades.
