If you're on a budget and want a full meal you have to order their Lunch special for $5.99. I had an angus cheeseburger with a side salad. Best deal in town!

GREAT food! – The food is the real deal here. Everything is expertly prepared and delicious. My girlfriend and I cannot believe there aren't more dinner customers. Hopefully Diego gets good lunch biz from CBS. The prices are very reasonable, and it's quickly becoming our favorite restaurant in LA. This is Jar-quality food, people.

Great, cheap food – With rotating $6 daily menus and an emphasis on great ingredients, Food Fair by Diego is one of LA's hidden jewels. Feel safe ordering anything, but their pulled pork sandwich is ridiculous. Diego is the man.

Food Fair is a rare gem – I found Food Fair through a Groupon promotion about a week or so ago and decided to take a chance on them. Prior to this, I hadn't heard of them before and really didn't know what to expect.

I went with a friend and we ordered the calamari appetizer to start. I'm a big fan of fried calamari but it's generally a) too rubbery or b) fried to the point where you can't taste the fish. I'm happy to say that not only was the fried calamari perfectly prepared but it was delicious as well! The sauce that it came with was light and tart and complimented it perfectly.

My main dish was a grilled goat cheese sandwich served with carmelized onions. It came with a nice mixed-green salad with a really tasty balsalmic vinegar. Both were fantastic. It was enough to be filling but tasty enough to leave me wanting more. My friend ordered a veggie sandwich on foccaccia which, in her words, was the "best sandwich she had ever eaten". She's usually a very light eater but she polished the whole thing off in one sitting.

We were so happy with out meals that we made reservations for their prix-fixe Valentine's Day dinner right then and there. I wish that I had the time to go into how good *that* meal was. Suffice it to say, it was an incredibly memorable meal and the course parings were perfect. There was a tortellini in a creamy roasted red pepper sauce that was easily the best thing I've tasted in months.

The chef, Diego, is friendly and personable and his staff and incredibly attentive. Go check out Food Fair. It's a local gem that has yet to be discovered by the throngs of local, discerning foodies but, I've no doubt, soon will be.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Chef/owner Diego Balam has transformed a grungy old pizza joint into a charming little art-strewn restaurant on Beverly, just around the corner from Fairfax. His own paintings and sculptures adorn the mint green walls, alongside those from rotating local artists. White wooden chairs and a long banquette fill the cozy space, which is bright and airy by day and more romantic at night thanks to flickering multi-hued votives. Diego, former sous-chef at O-Bar, has created the perfect balance of hip and friendly both in atmosphere and in cuisine--Motown tunes bounce off the iPod, and the food is just as soulful. Upscale American standards like BBQ pulled pork sandwich, meatloaf and a killer 8-ounce Angus burger with applewood bacon share the spotlight with homemade mascarpone gnocchi, mussels in spicy tomato sauce and house-cured salmon flatbread. Entrees include grilled chicken, tuna nicoise, and sweet roasted beet salad with arugula, toasted pecans and warm goat cheese.

who knew you existed!!!!!!!!WOW – Came in for dinner not knowing what kind of food i was going to get or eat. WOW was i blown away with every thing i ate had the carpacio man was it delicious. my buddy had the ribs and that was probably if not the best ribs i have ever had they came with a salad which i thought was strange, ribs and salad who knew it would go so perfectly. We both had the chicken and that was also great. Serivice was excellent we got helped out by this cute waitress friendly and attentive. I know ill go back for the burger

Offbeat, charming restaurant in Fairfax/Beverly area – This is easily my favorite restaurant in the Fairfax/Beverly area.

Menu is eclectic, but probably best described as upscale, dressed up comfort foods. The owner/chef personally prepares every order himself, and is an awesome cook and nice guy to boot. The ingredients are farmers market quality, and almost everything including the condiments and dressings are scratch made.

My favorite is the half-pound Angus burger which has usurped Golden State for what I consider to be the best burger in the neighborhood.

There's no beer or wine (yet), but it's a great lunch place, or a quiet, inexpensive dinner before a movie at The Grove or Regency. It's never a scene.

Hidden Find!!! – What a pleasant surprise!!! I came across Food Fair by Diego this afternoon and checked out the menu. WOW! Gourmet food at really reasonable prices. I had the goat cheese grilled cheese on amazing kalamata bread with a beautiful onion jam. It was served with a very fresh and tasty salad and some AMAZING homemade crisps - sweet and regular potato. I will definitely be back...YUMM!
