Neighborhoods: Central East, Mission
Citysearch Editorial Review – Those expecting a standard pizza joint will be surprised: Spacious yet cozy, with a long, wide wooden bar lined with comfortable stools, tables filled with Mission locals and families and a strong community vibe, Pi Bar feels like the neighborhood living room. The homey atmosphere works well with the simple menu--just 10 traditional toppings for the NY-style thin crust pizza, by the slice or pie, and 12 draft import/microbrews of the day, with a couple of apps, salads, and pastas, plus about a dozen wines. Welcoming, too, is the daily 3pm-6pm happy hour, when a slice and a beer are $6.28, which is Pi (3.14) times two. What's up with the whole Pi theme? Who knows, but this place has stumbled onto a great formula.
