Terrible venue - can't see anything/move – Can't move or breathe once in main room, esp. once there are bigger sold-out acts.

Small bar at the side is a terrible idea b/c you can't dance, move, or go through anyone to get there.

Had to take my girlfriend out of the main room last night for show b/c she nearly passed out, and there was a fight that nearly happened.

Terribly managed organization & venue; I've been here several times and have yet to enjoy, regardless of act.

I've been all over New York, and this is near the bottom of the venues for enjoying a performance.

In the bowels of the Knitting Factory lies this underground lair for lesser known musicians. – In Short
With brick walls, low ceilings, a small stage and a tiny yet accommodating bar, the Old Office remains an ideal place to listen closely to up-and-coming artists hailing from New York City and beyond. Rock and punk bands pack the small space and crank up their amps, but some of the best shows belong to the folk and blues singer-songwriters who quietly make the most of the room's acoustics.

Seen its prime – KF books great artists, and the venue itself is pretty cool- three spaces in one, with the main space offering a first come, first serve balcony.

However, the staff is pretty inept- prior to a higher-drawing show, they try to cram you into the main bar to keep the main hallway clear. Bad idea.

The bouncers are mostly obnoxious, and the soundsystem completely failed during the last show I went to. Drink and ticket prices are average.

Someone isn't paying attention anymore.

Great location (not enough lower west side venues!), amazing shows and a small, comfortable setting. $10 shows for semi-big bands is a deal you just cannot pass up.

A must for music lovers – A great cab ride down Broadway to get to this out of the way spot. The history of the place speaks for itself. It's your basic club/music hall but it is fun to say that you've been there!

too big for its britches – The Knit--a downtown institution--still tends to book a good, eclectic mix of bigger indie rock names and jazz. But these days, perhaps in an effort to make up for the lack of a crowd after 9/11, the club is booking more than one show in the main space per night and selling twice as many tickets (and that doesn't include the acts booked in the downstairs spaces). The result is an intensely unpleasant traffic jam of music fans caught in long lines, being berated by bouncers, paying too much for whiskey--plus, some bands have to do without a soundcheck, which doens't benefit anyone.
