If you love a good mussel then Meet is a must with their gigantic mussels with a variety of interesting and tasty sauces!

Excellent Menu – It was my 1st time at Meet French Bistro in Culver City last month. They have a very cute outside dining area and a great menu with great options for all. I do enjoy places that give you options and this place has it! If you are a mussels fan, I do recommend getting the mussels appetizer. You get to pick your own sauce as well. Any sauce you pick is a great option! I gave this place 4 our 5 stars! Great dining and nice atmosphere with plenty of delish options to choose from.

We'll meet again at MEET! – Cute little restaurant with great service... and of course, great food. :) I got the salmon and my husband got the steak frites... and I definitely recommend the mussels! The ultra thin fries are to die for!

The only reason I wouldn't give five stars is because one of the servers seemed to be in an awfully bad mood and just seemed like he was annoyed whenever we asked for refills on water. But other than that, everyone else was very friendly and nice :)

Never Again! – We went early last week to have dinner and with the restaurant not even half full, we were immediately told "I have too many reservations in the next half hour. I don't have a table." Pretty rude. My husband was so mad that after we went to anither restaurant, he wanted to see if we were being told the truth and checked back 45 minutes later to find the restaurant still pretty empty. AND they were seating walk ins. We will not be going there again. My daughters' French Teacher (from france) gave us the name of a restaurant she likes. We will be heading there instead

Whoa, there! Not That Great. – I was kinda shocked to see nothing but 5-star reviews of this place. Everything was average at best. In fact, I'll even say the food was bland.

My date and I got the pork tenderloin and salmon entree. Unfortunately, neither one was anything special, which makes going out disappointing. There was no flavor in either dish. PLUS, the sides (green beans and spinach) were IDENTICAL on both plates, so no tasting something different there.

The wine choices are expensive; there was no bottle under $34. We got a carafe at $25 which was the cheapest. Again - nothing interesting there.

Service was fine - but please don't whisk away my plate if I STILL have the fork in my mouth and I'm still chewing! Man - will backwaiters EVER learn this in LA?

We wouldn't go back. Sorry!

Fantastic New Restaurant Find! – My San Diego family met at Meet Restaurant on January 2, 2010 for an afternoon gathering, and to meet up with our friends, new owners of Meet Restaurant. There were about 14 of us, and Seb and his staff had quite a morning taking everyone's order. Oh, my gosh, the food was so unbelievably good. I had the Quiche. I didn't know it was also accompanied by a sliced fruit medley and a spring salad mixture. The portions were amazingly huge, au contraire to popular conception of french cuisine. I loved the friendly atmosphere and the quaintness of the place.

If you are ever in Culver City, you MUST stop here and sample their menu. You will truly be amazed. Sebastien and Cecile Cornic are the new owners and they bring a fresh French concept to Meet Restaurant. As a restaurateur from Paris, Sebastien is managing to combine the French exquisite simplicity of fine dining and comfortable American fare at reasonable prices.

MEET them! You'll Love Them! – This is the second time on a Saturday night we’ve been to MEET! Tonight’s meal was all about their tapas menu, but that’s not all they do well (more on that in a moment). We had four fantastic dishes consisting of succulent smoked salmon on potato crisps, creative crusted calamari, perfectly pan seared scallops, and killer Kobe slider burgers on brioche. On our first visit, we weren’t able to fit in dessert as it was my birthday and I had a homemade lemon/blueberry tart waiting for me at home, but this time we had pastry Chef Sebastian Chassignol’s rich chocolate cake which I’ve seriously never had anything like it before. Unbelievably heavenly!

My birthday experience was equally impressive. And just like last night’s experience, the owners, Sebastian, and his lovely and charming wife, Cecile, greeted us at the door with the most friendly smiles and good cheer. We like sitting indoors, though, most people like their lovely patio with all those tiny white lights everywhere in the trees giving it a Champs Elysees feel. My partner and I both like sitting near an open kitchen to watch chef’s kitchen operation.

Chef Scott Garrett is brilliant and very on top of his game. Since it was also a Saturday night, and the place filled up fast, we didn’t want to stop him and ask questions like where he was trained, and how they formulated their business plan. But a plan there is because the cuisine and service is five stars! And for a Bistro, they deliver top notch service and food right up there with The Patina Group.

That night we both decided on the halibut with béarnaise sauce as our entrée along with two sides of your choice. Everything is reasonably priced. We both had the sautéed spinach, but for our second, I opted for the basmati rice (loved the garlic infusion) and my partner opted for their “trumpet” of French Fries. Never saw a metal contraption like it, but it certainly was grand and huge (perhaps a bit too huge – we both nibbled on French Fries throughout the meal and still didn’t finish them all, but they were definitely delicious).

Sebastian came out with an amuse bouche of a halibut mixture over crouton-like bread that was to die for. My friend chose the lobster bisque as an appetizer and I picked the pan seared scallops (can you tell I dig the scallops?). The pureed pea sauce, a creation of Chef Scott Garrett’s, was mysterious and fabulous. At first I thought it was wasabi. I refrained from pressing the issue of his secret as the place was hopping! The presentation was also extraordinary, and being a Libra, aesthetics are very important to me (I told you I was hard to please, especially on my birthday).

MEET is by far, one of the best dining experiences you will have if you enjoy French cuisine.

Excellent French bistro – Surprisingly good quality French bistro in Culver City, adjacent to another one (Saint Amour). We stumbled on it by accident and were very pleased. Everything was great quality, especially the homemade soups and pastries. The tarte tatin was one of the best I've ever had, anywhere -- including Paris. Very reasonably priced. I'd recommend this one without hesitation.

Awesome!!! – Loved it !!!

We went there with a group and the food was excellent especially the lambs chops! Wines by the glass were very good and moderately priced. The warm chocolate cake delivered by the pastry chef himself was one of the best we ever had !!!

A great place with great service.

Wonderful – Shockingly good service, wonderful food. Sebastian and Cecile have created a restaurant that is truly special. Coming from a family that has run top restaurants in Paris this couple know show to create a special experience. Our dinner club - a very picky crowd - agreed this was the best overall experience we have had this year. Everything about this place is comfortable and convivial. Saint Amour, the restaurant next door is quite good, but the service at Meet truly sets this place apart.

California "meets" French – I was up in LA (Westwood) with my teenage daughter last Friday morning and before heading back down to San Diego decided to give this place a try for lunch.

We had such a good experience that as a result, I'm writing my first citysearch review ever.

First of all the service is very good. They are friendly and attentive. There is a lot of pride by the staff with the food (more on that in a second) and the service.

The fact that they opened recently means there is a vibe of entrepreneurial energy which made the experience exciting.

We sat in the patio (nice comfy chairs). The street location is great for people-watching.

The food we had was definitely top notch bistro food like in a good Parisian brasserie, but with a bit of a california / health food flair which makes sense. My daughter said the french fries that came with her Croque Monsieur were the best she's had in recent memory and she had a persistent smile on her face while eating them. She then tried some of my beet salad and just wouln't give it back.

As a result, I suggested we ordered desert (tarte Tatin). This was fantastic especially when paired with a cup of coffee (I think they serve Illy coffee). It was a perfect way to end the lunch and set out on our San Diego drive.

Since this is a young restaurant, it will be fun to track it over the coming months/years to see how it evolves. In particular the waitress mentioned live music in the plans, which should create quite an ambiance!
