great place for wine food and music – Went with my husband yesterday...got the prix fix just to try it out! $35

AMAZING pairing of wine and food! Mussels in white wine, grilled salmon both were excellent dishes!

my husband had the ravioli and steak (could be a lil less dry) also very good!

The flavors were genuine & the food was fresh!

would definetly go back!

great place to eat – Ate here the other night with my wife. Have to say the wine was really good but the food could have been better. The service was horrible and both the owner and his wife seemed like really fake people. My waitress wasn't friendly and the busboy spilled my drink on my lap. Definitely will not be returning to this restuarant

Finally a wine bar with incredible food – The most happening wine bar I have been to in years is, by far, Stanton. From the moment you walk in you are more than welcomed. The bar scene is probably 30 somethings and always present with a great vibe thanks to the music, great wine list and lively conversation. Step in a little further to the dining room and enjoy the best small plates you have tasted in such a venue. Inventive combinations of vegetables and cheeses into mouthwatering salads, indulgent pastas and creative fish, fowl and meat dishes all pair excellently with the mult-country wine list. And at a reasonable price I might add. Save room for the ricotta cheesecake dessert with blueberries in port wine; totally worth that extra 1/2 hour on the treadmill.

Unbeatable combo: indulgent yet erudite. – I love a restaurateur who indulges me. I'm not talking a giant indulgence, just your ordinary "I want everyone to feel comfortable and happy in my restaurant" kind of indulgence. And that's certainly what we got from Stanton (the man and the restaurant) tonight. I also love well-paired wine and food, where the wine and food are good all by themselves and then, miraculously, they become some perfectly paired uber-version of themselves that makes you want to hold that thought in your head and that flavor in your mouth for about 20 years. The setting was nice and dark and moody in a good way; there was raw natural wood, too! And the soundtrack, while a little loud, was the kind of latin jazz and salsa that makes everyone feel good about being alive. Me, I'd probably decide which restroom was for men and which was for women instead of doing the unisex thing, but it's a minor point. Nice to be able to see the kitchen through a little window too. On the whole, a tasty (oh, truffles in so many things - how could the meals be anything but loving and loved with all those truffle products!), warm, enriching experience - and without costing us an arm and a leg. Good value to go with the good vibes.

Great New Downtown Feel restaurant on Upper East Side – My husband and I tried Stanton on the upper east side for the first time last night. Our entire experience was awesome. The atmosphere was trendy, yet relaxing and sophisticated. There is a fun bar area in the front with good music and a somewhat dark romantic dining room in the back. Stanton and his wife Racquel are excellent hosts and make everyone feel welcome. The food was exciting and delicious. It was great trying wines and food from all over the world. Stanton offers small plates to share. We had a great scallop dish, machego crocquettes, crispy shrimp and BBQ pulled pork sliders that were great. I can't remember which countries most of the dished were from, but the slider were definately american. The desserts all sounded great and were hard to choose from. We went with the Churros with spicy chocolate dipping sauce. We couldn't finish all of them but brought them home for our kids and they loved them too. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Our neighborhood really needed a cool downtown restaurant with great food.
