This is a great place to explore new drinks and vintage cocktails. The bartenders are amazing and the service is really top notch.
Hip mixology bar - no sign, so look for the giant neon palm. Lots of cocktails in most of the major spirit categories. It's a small place, so go early on weekends or there could be a wait. Really fun before or after a show at Largo next door.
Horrible Treatment!!! – This was THE WORST EXPERIENCE I have EVER had at a bar in the 10 years I have lived in LA!
A girlfriend and I decided to order drinks while waiting for friends to join us on a busy Tuesday night. After our drinks were ordered with the bartender.....we chatted in the aisle near the bar while we waited. At that point a female patron called the manager, Jeremy, to complain about us. Jeremy confronted us by saying "I don't want to kick you out but there seems to be a problem." WHAT PROBLEM?!?!?! We were in the aisle waiting for our $14 a piece drinks to be poured and you come from around the bar to tell us we are invading the personal space of a patron who seemed to have no issue with us until she noticed what we looked like!!!!
This was complete DISCRIMINATION and I have never been so embarrassed and insulted in my entire life!!!!!
When our friend arrived, we explained the situation to them.....and they were even personally insulted by Jeremy when they tried to diffuse the situation.
WTF happened to the cool and calm space that used to be the Coronet?
Jeremy has NO management skills and should be ashamed at how he treated honest and friendly patrons!
I WILL NEVER ENDORSE THE ROGER ROOM TO ANY VIP CLIENTS I WORK WITH, NOR WILL I EVER GO BACK.
Citysearch Editorial Review – With its coal-black exterior, this secluded storefront is easy to miss. But behind the thick burnt orange curtains of this hidden low-lit bar lies a carnival-esque scene reminiscent of the days of vaudeville. No need for carnie and sideshow attractions--the bar's cherry hardwood counter tops and black and white photos of lion boys and circus acts keep just enough of the quirky vibe alive. A soundtrack 60s soul music fills up the small lounge, as bartenders suited in white collar shirts and black vests hand guests shots of whiskey, absinthe concoctions called Death in the Afternoon and signature cocktails like The Dame, (Hennessey, cherry juice, lemon and champagne). Guests who want to check themselves out can glance at the mirror-lined ceiling, and those who want to chill out can relax on plush booths surrounded by stain glass windows and circus-like glass murals along the walls.
