Review Before My Alterations :) – Okay I will give my final review after my alterations on my MOB gown. Today is 03-21-12. I have to say that Babettes made my day :) I waiting for a phone call from Chrissy. Well I could not wait long enough so I called. I wanted a MOB dress so bad. Okay I did order one on 12-27-11 but it was not the one I really wanted. The one I wanted was not in the store for 2012 at the time in December. I called yesterday on 03-20-12. I talked to Jessi, and told her about when I placed my order for the first in on 12-27-11 the dress I really wanted was not in stores for 2012 at this time. Well Jessi, told me to hold on Jessi, went to look for the dress I really wanted. WOW!!! Jessi, gets back on the phone says Diane, the dress is in and it's beautiful. I was thinking great I already ordered one because my daughters wedding is in June. Jessi, told me to come in try it on if I like it they would change my order for the dress I really loved. They would have to place a rush order if the dress works out and I really want it. This even gets a little scary because I love the dress that's so beautiful. I happen to be 5'4 right on so this is where Chrissy, comes into what happens becaue Jessi was went home. Chrissy, sent me home not being able to sleep all night. Chrissy has to call the compant tosee if it came in a petite. I think it was a must for the petite dress on me as Chrissy and others on staff felt I needed. Well after I called a young lady said Chrissy was on the phone with Jade she will call me back :) The phone rings it's Chrissy, from Babettes she placed a rush order for the dress I really wanted, and in a PETITE. Chrissy, said it will be in the first week in May 2012 for my daughters June wedding. Thank you Jessi, Chrissy, and Babettes for going above and beyond for me. I will get the dress I love for my only childs wedding. Chrissy, Jessi and babettes thank you you made my day. I also cried but they was happy tears to know the dress that had a much younger design and a style that looks much better on me i'll be wearking :)
I'll be posting a new review after the dress come in and the aterations are done. I'll post pictures at that time of the dress too.
Sometimes when we wait things happen for a reason. Remember always be kind to others and they will treat you the same way. We are all human and we all have bad days :( Today was a blessing for me and a day i'll never forget.
I wish I could give less than one star – Let me start by saying that the customer service is fine if you are only trying on dresses. They are very friendly and helpful, but DO NOT ORDER ANY DRESSES FROM THERE!!!!
I ordered five bridesmaid dresses there and it seemed pretty seemless until...
Time was ticking down and I called to see about the dresses and was told they weren't in yet and "Don't worry, we will call you when they come in." The person I talked to sounded about 15 years old and got the attitude of someone that age, as if to say, "Stop calling here." Unbeknownst to me, one of my bridesmaids went down there shortly after I called to see if she could see a sample of the fabric to match her accessories. The girl said, "Oh, I can show you the dress. It came in a few days ago." When the YOUNG lady showed her the dress, it was the wrong color. They then became rude to her telling her that SHE must've told them the color or that I changed the color and she just didn't know about it. So then I called. They tried telling me that 4 of the 5 bridesmaids must've not known what color to order and told their staff the wrong color. Well, I was with all of my bridesmaids when they ordered the dresses and informed the staff that I was the one that told Babettes staff what color to order. They continued to try to tell me that it was MY fault and it COULDN'T possibly be THEIR mistake. So I got out my receipts for the dresses and right there on my receipt was the correct color. They didn't know what to say. The owner or manager (they lie about who it is you are talking to) then proceeded to tell me that she had a bad experience with HER wedding dresses and that my experience was nowhere near as bad as the one she had. I was speechless. Complete insensitivity from the very top down. Well, I am a teacher and very calm and patient by nature, so I let it go and figured there was nothing I could do about why THEY ordered the wrong dresses. And that it would be best to move on with "making it right." They found out they would be able to reorder the dresses in time, so that's what they did. It is now 4 days before my wedding and 2 bridemaids STILL do not have their dresses! They told one of my bridesmaids that her dress was coming in "on the 5:45 shipment" and scheduled her a fitting for 7:30. When she got there, the asked her why she was there because her dress never came in. Nobody even bothered to call her to let her know. She made a fuss..NOT about the fact that it is 4 days before the wedding and her dress isn't in, but because nobody called her to tell her not to show up for dress fitting. WE have been VERY patient and calm and have accepted SO MUCH attitude from these people when it was THEIR mistake and it just keeps getting worse. So then the "manager" (I think they ALL refer to themselves as a manager in some capacity), but this was "Jessi" to be specific, tells my bridesmaid "The owner has been EXTREMELY accommodating for your party. I don't understand why you are so upset. So again I called. This time I'm talking to the "prom floor manager" and her response was, "I know Jessi and she wouldn't say that." Never once did either of these girls apologize in any way. To make matters worse, they offered a 50% off discount of alterations to the dress, but then they charged twice as much for the alterations so they didn't discount it in any way. You can not get any response from anyone that has any authority. I was told (mind you my wedding is in 4 days) that if I wanted to contact the owner, I would have to send her a letter or email her, but if I emailed her, it would be taken care of by the manager and not the owner anyway. I honestly don't know how this company stays in business with customer service like this.
ITS NOT WORTH THE AGGREVATION!
Not the place for a positive bridal experience! – My daughter and I went to Babette's in 8/11 in search of the perfect wedding gown. We found one, great price and service was good. I was "suspicious" at the time, b/c they charged the FULL amount of the gown at the time of purchase (and we were told gown would be in within 6 months). After a few months, we called to check on progress of dress. We were never given an estimated delivery date...just kept telling us it would be 6 months. When we asked who the "designer" of the dress was (b/c in our excitement, we didn't even notice), we could never get an answer. As time went on, we kept getting an uneasy feeling about Babette's. On a Saturday in February 2012 (6 mos after ordering the wedding gown), I called Babette's 3 different times checking on the status of the dress. Each time, I was told the "bridal consultant" would call me "right back". It never happened. The following Monday, I called the BBB and my credit card company. Surprisingly, the day that Babette's received my complaint from the BBB, the owner called me and left a message saying the dress would be in the very next day! (It was not)....They do not practice fair business there and would only refund 1/2 of my money. Not sure what was REALLY going on. We were given the run around so many time, it totally shook our sense of security and we doubted we would ever see the dress. I will never recommend Babette's to anyone, for anything. I'd much rather pay more for an item elsewhere, and be treated with kindness, respect, honesty and good business ethics.
Something For Everyone! – After reading some of the reviews online, I wasn't sure what to expect at Babettes. I wanted to share my fabulous experience with everyone. When I first walked in, I was welcomed by a very friendly staff. I was a little overwhelmed by the large variety of dresses, but there was a great selection - there's something for everyone! A consultant worked one on one with me and was extremely patient and helpful. Even though there were so many beautiful dresses, I have had my eye on a Sherri Hill dress for quite some time. Other places I had gone to could not order the dress so I was extremely happy they could! They took my measurements and the dress fit perfectly. Babettes is an experience that everyone needs to have. I will be back for prom!
BEST PLACE EVER – During my senior year of highschool i heard about Babettes. i decided to go there and give it a try. There was so many dresses to choose from i was in heaven. Everything was well orginized and the saleswomen were very helpful. A highschool student helped me and i thought that was great because i got the opioion i wanted from someone my own age. They ordered in my dress from sherri hill. Of course i needed some alterations just as everyone else does. The semstress work on my dress was beautiful!!! they had to take it in, hem it and take out some fluff! the end result was beutiful and just what i wanted! love this place cant wait to go back when i get married !!!
BABETTES – I bought my homecoming dress from Babettes sophmore year. This was the first time i went somewhere nice to buy a dress for a dance. They had a great selection. The employees were wonderful. They were all extremely friendly and helpful
I <3 Babette's! Can't wait to come back for Homecoming! – I went to Babette's on Black Friday in hopes to find my prom gown and I did! I never knew Babette's had so many gowns. I swear I tried on 50 or more gowns and liked so many of them. It was so hard to decide which one I wanted because I liked a lot of them. The girl there was so nice and she gave me her opinion. She picked me out gowns I would have never thought looked good on me and she showed me even what she was wearing to Prom. It was nice to get an opinion from someone my age and not just my mom haha. I ended up falling in love with a gown that was more than my price range that my mom wanted me to stay in. But Babette's was having a Black Friday sale so I was able to use that discount and put it on layaway. Now I can make payments up until prom. I'm so glad I went to Babette's. I can't wait for prom! :)
Babette's has such a wonderful staff! – Babette's Staff went above and beyond to find me a perfect dress! My daughter is getting married this May and I needed a dress that fit my body correctly and was in my price range. I had went to other bridal stores and the staff was very rude and would tell me everything I tried on looked gorgeous. (Even if the gown looked completely horrible!) I was about to give up but I had heard about this store and decided to give it one more try. I had went on their website and got called to make an appointment. The women I had spoke to told me that I didn't even need an appointment and that I could come in whenever I was able to. This was perfect because most places told us you had to have an appointment. I went to Babette's and the staff was very understanding and was able to work with my price range. They had dresses I could actually try on because most stores only carried up to size 10 and most women are not a size 10! I tried on numerous gowns and the staff told me what their opinion of the gown was and actually would tell me if it did not look good. They were very nice and even helped my daughter find the perfect bridesmaids gowns for her girls and gave a percentage off because she has so many! I decided to write a review because the happy customers usually do not write reviews and it is ashame for future customers to only read reviews from the few that had a bad experience. absolute worst experience dealing with a business ever – My experience with Babettes was absolutely appaulling. For the past several days I have been trying to reach an agreement with the Management Staff and also the Owner of Babettes and not only is the staff unprofessional and rude but they have also shown that they do not care of the satisfaction of their customers and most certainly do not care about return business to their salon. Babettes was offering $100 gift vouchers for $50 and at the time that myself and (2) of my Bridesmaids were there, a store associate had brought this to my attention and had approved the purchase of more than (1) per person. My (2) Bridesmaids that were with me that day had taken advantage of this promotion- buying (2) gift vouchers per person towards the purchase of their bridesmaids dresses. I had confirmed with the staff member that the rest of my bridal party can have that same promotion and their response was "Yes" Well- Babettes has chosen not to honor this promotion with the rest of my Bridal party and after speaking with the Manager, they had admitted their faults in saying that the website was misrepresented at the time, however I never heard about the promotion through the website in the first place. The Manager said to me that they honored the promotion with the first 2 bridesmaids but had no intentions of honoring it with my 4 other bridesmaids because of the misrepresentation on the website- However I was lied to when the staff member had said that my remaining bridal party would in fact receive the same promotion. After Babettes had taken the money from my first 2 Bridesmaids - they then jacked the price up an additional $50 for the rest of my bridal party behind my back and did not discuss this with me to ensure that this is financially okay with the rest of my bridal party. I care very much about all of my girls in my bridal party and I could never have asked them in the first place to pay this much for a bridesmaids gown so I am absolutely appaulled by the way Babettes conducts business. All the while my girls are not permitted to get their money back from what they had deposited even though Babettes has not even placed the order for our dresses. I was given the email address for the owner and I have yet to hear a response from her and at this point I am doubting that I do because of how poorly this business is managed. At this point, the policy for the gift vouchers have changed a total of (3) times now excluding Bridesmaids all-together. I would not suggest this business as a place to buy your bridal apparrel- they do not care about your business and they have flat out lied to me and 2 of my bridesmaids.
Babette's Consultants were awsome! – I am a bride to be and im so happy I went to Babette's. I am getting married in a few months and I am an early shopper. I went to babettes last May and found the perfect dress. I had been to many stores and found some gowns I liked but not the one. I went to Babettes during a very busy day with Prom but that didnt stop the consultants from taking their time with me. The consultants were not pushy and did not make me rush. I showed some pictures of gowns I liked to the consultant and she found a few gowns similar. I tried them on and they were just okay. Then she had an idea of me trying on a mermaid. I had never tried one on before because no one ever suggested it. I tried it on and I loved the style. So the consultant and some of the younger employees then went on a search for similar styles. They found me some and I tried them on found the one! I had been waiting for this feeling forever and I felt it that day. The employees were just so nice and took the time to even help my mom find a dress. Our appointment was not even for that and they still let her look. I would suggest Babettes to any bride that wants the perfect dress and good customer service.
