Worst bar in the city – I went here with friends after work recently and it was such a bad time. Terrible service and attitude to match. We will NOT be back !
THIS PLACE IS AWFUL !! – This bar is the worst. They think they have a trendy lounge in the meatpacking district. But it's really just another sucky bar in Murray Hill !! The bar staff are TERRIBLE.
Good looking bar. Shame about the staff. – I agree with one of the postings below regarding the service at this bar. REALLY bad. The bar has a good space. The drinks are fine. The food is okay. But the service is terrible. Slow and rude. Typical of a bar that just wants to pack people in at the expense of looking after its customers. Warning: don't block the service area where the wait staff pick up drinks or you will be physically shoved out of the way. Nice.
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!! – This is probably the second time that I have ever written a review, and the first time on citisearch, that is how strongly I feel I about this restaurant. Walking into this restaurant which we happened to be walking by, the experience started off okay enough. The hostess was rather nice and seated up promptly even though we were only given one dinner menu for 2 people. Granted that only I said that one of us was having dinner and the other was undecided, that was rather poor judgement. After sitting for about 15 mins. no one has yet to come over to us, another couple was sat next to us, More time goes by, the server (Breanna) finally comes over and goes over to the other couple first!! She finally comes over to us after 20mins!! She then proceeds to take their order, leaves, puts in their oder then came back to us. It took us another 5-10 mins to finally get our drinks, only after my friend tried going to bar to ask for it. When my food finally came, (I had only ordered an entree) the couple next to us was almost done with their entrees and they had a first course! Not to mention, when I asked the busboy for bread, he "tsked" as us as if were were asking him to roll the dough and bake the bread fresh for us himself!! Trust me, the attitude that we got from our server was about that as well. The POOR SERVICE that we recieved from her was just the tip of the ice berg, but I refuse to continue on. I don't believe that there was even a manager present! It was like the inmates running the asylum! Both my collegue and myself are managers of a well known, chic and upscale restaurant in midtown. And we both agreed that that was defintely one of the worst dining experiences ever. I think that I have had better service at Mcdonald's! Needless to say, being in the industry, I still tipped 20%, but if I was a regular guest and got that kind of service and attitude, I would have definitely not have left a tip. The management and owners ready need to take heed!
The dumbest staff ever! – I don't know how this place got an 8.8 rating???!!! While the waitstaff wasn't rude to my group, they were slow and very stupid.
Every drink that was ordered came back to the tabel wrong and moreover was underpoured and overpriced. The place is far from trendy as the website states. Trendy places do not have several plasma screens playing sports on them. C'mon this place is a glorified pub food watering hole where Murry Hill/Gramercy Park low level account executives and secreteries come to hook up. The food and drinks are an afterthought.
AWFUL service!! DO NOT go here!! – i've been here twice unfortunately, tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but to NO avail. service is truly AWFUL. they are rude, slow, and have serious attitude problems. no idea why, considering its a random spot with average food. it took them a full 45 mins to bring us breakfast--and the place was empty! seriously awful.
Great Food and Friendly Service – The squash ravioli and white bean chorizo were unique and delicious! Even though Vertigo feels more like an upscale bar than a sit-down restaurant, I'm glad I tried the food because I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was more attentive than most places, and I left feeling quite satisfied.
Editorial Review – Murray Hill restaurant and bar serves global brunch, lunch and dinner in contemporary design, with weekend Djs and private events.
good for early AND late night – i started out my night at vertigo for dinner (which was delicious) then just stayed and hung out with some more drinks. The crowd that filtered in was the a great age group and had no pretentious attitude. We ended up staying there all night! It didnt hurt either that the drinks were good and kept on coming. great place for a chill meal with friends or a spot for hanging out with some late night drinks. ill be going back again and again.
Great music, great people, can't wait to go back – I had such a great time there on Friday night. It was packed with people in their twenties and thirties. There was great music and nice strong drinks. Late night I even grabbed a burger and it was awesome too. This club has a great vibe- not one of those stuck up vibes. I can't wait to go back.
