Great addition to the neighborhood – I really like the new Union market that has moved into the old blockbuster on Court street. All of their products are organic and they get local products in season. It has really added to the neighborhood. They have a great cheese and fish department and I love the fresh squeezed OJ.
Deceptive pricing – Yes, this store has nice stuff in it. But buyer beware! Prices that get scanned at the register are not as marked. Chicken was marked $3.69 a pound. At the check out, it scanned in at $4.79 per pound, I called the manager over. He was perfectly nice and polite, but then proceeded to tell me that it still came out to the same amount of money. Hello? I actually had to ask him if he thought buying what you thought was a pound of chicken at $3.69 per pound, was the same thing as actually getting a much smaller piece for a more expensive price per pound? Did he not understand that customers don't like being lied to about how much money they're spending per pound and how big a package they think they're buying? Chocolate bar scanned in at a dollar more than marked as well. The manager did say that the problems would be corrected. But if you want to spend your money here, pay attention when you're at the check out!
