BEWARE!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Awful customer service by JOE, Pam, and an elderly lady– RUDE, INCONSIDERATE, HAUGHTY, DISHONEST, and LAZY. I took my car in for a bad alternator and ended up with a flat tire and an oil leak two days after I picked it up from the shop! Joe and Pam seem to be running an UNETHICAL and CORRUPT business. I have had my car for 4.5 years and it has NEVER leaked oil before. The nail was new and clean and had been drilled into my tire. The people who patched my tire confirmed it was not something I just ran over – the way the nail was positioned and its condition pointed to intentional sabotage.
As I stated before, JOE and crew have awful customer service skills and are incredibly rude on the phone and in person. Very short answers, almost sarcastic and definitely impatient. Standoffish body language and cocky. I don’t know how anyone would go there more than once. I actually called this shop before last winter started to see if they would put on my snow tires. The person on the phone was so rude and short tempered that I ended up taking my car elsewhere. I shouldn’t have given them a second chance when I brought my car there for an alternator a few weeks ago.
Here is a summary of my experience: I dropped my car off on a Monday and I was promised that my car would be ready by Friday morning. The car was not ready and Joe denied ever promising it to be ready and acted as though I was crazy. My mother had called during the week to check on the status and he was very rude to her, but he did also promise her that the car would be finished Friday morning. I had three appointments to go to on Friday, so when I asked if they could provide me with a ride or car to use, he laughed at me. When I questioned the price on the invoice that totaled over $630, Joe was impatient and rolled his eyes. He complained about how awful it was to change my alternator and how difficult of a job it was and how he ran into trouble with a stripped bolt and then he didn’t look at my brakes (something else I needed to have done) because he just wanted the car out of his garage. This concerns me because these words were coming from a so-called professional mechanic. What mechanic and professional implies that they dislike working on cars and didn’t feel like checking brakes?
I then asked why he didn’t call me with the estimate before doing the work, and he snapped at me that he spoke to 5 different people twenty times about my car and someone approved the estimate - he said he even talked to my grandmother. I informed him that my grandmother died about 5 months ago, and asked him for the names of the other people. He had no notes – no names, no numbers, nothing to prove that someone had approved an estimate. He took $50 off the total price, and when I asked for $100 he quickly conceded, which only solidifies my theory that he grossly overcharged me if he was willing to just take $100 off just like that. Before leaving, I asked for a more detailed description of the work because the invoice just stated “Labor”. Joe again rolled his eyes, the elderly woman laughed at me, and he roughly snatched the invoice from the counter crinkling it into a ball. Visibly annoyed, he typed loudly on the keyboard, making sure to overemphasize every key stroke. I cannot understand why any business would treat a customer in this manner.
When I got into my car, I saw grease all over the inside of the driver side door! They didn’t put plastic down, nor did they clean up after themselves! To think that I would bring my car back to their shop to fix my mysterious flat tire and sudden oil leak – FORGET IT!
I will never take my car back to this shop again. I am hoping this review helps you to make the right choice – do not take your car here unless you are looking to be ripped off and have your car intentionally damaged.
Editorial Review – More than just mufflers, services include brakes, steering, A/C and basic maintenance like oil change, tune-ups and tire rotation.
