Southern comfort food gets raised to an almost preternatural level as this brilliant restaurant, thanks to the energy and imagination of chef Steven Satterfield.

Atlanta has a plethora of fine Southern restaurants, and although new, M-U feels like it's been around forever. There would be riots if the farm egg in celery cream dish was dropped on the menu, featured recently on the Martha Stewart show.

Some people just don't get this place, but it's great; high quality food that's actually original. I love their house made pates and terrines...oh and get the ice cream sanwiches!

just so so – Unfriendly staff, poor service, over priced small plates. i asked for my coffee and water to be refilled THREE times and I still NEVER got any. The food was only ok and a little over priced. The bread on my sandwich was so hard I couldn't bite into it.

Frou-Frou – They do not even have diet coke! Chicken salad sandwich is mix of dark and white meat. For the price you should get all white. No side, not even chips unless you pay extra.

Snooty wait and bar staff

Everything was Great – I thought this was a pretty nice dining experience. Went on Monday night and while it wasn't packed there was a fairly good sized crowd which tells you something. The ambience is nothing special but nicely done. The banquette in the dining room we were in was very comfy and the tables were well spaced. Service...very good. Menu is not lengthy but there should be something for everyone. For appetizers, the celery soup with egg was very good although it reminded one of breakfast food. The clams with bacon and onions was also tasty but not served with a spoon. Once that was provided I was able to get at all that yummy broth. Main courses, pork shoulder and risotto done to perfection. Dessert, the coconut cake was good but not really noteworthy but the rustic apple tart with cinnamon ice cream was. Before tip the total bill with two drinks and two glasses of wine came to less than $125 which I thought was more than fair. Give this place a shot, I think you'll enjoy it. I know we'll be going back soon.

A winning combo on the Westside. – In Short
The buzzworthy pairing of Steven Satterfield (Scott Peacock’s understudy at Watershed) and longtime Sotto Sotto manager, Neal McCarthy was love at first site for Atlanta gourmands. Lodged in the foodie-happy Westside and boasting an interior that combines wooden tables with steel window frames, Miller Union feels like a farmer decorated a warehouse. It’s a perfect atmosphere combination of cozy, yet still cutting edge. The cuisine is expectedly Southern but disguises its influence in sophistication. Chicory lettuce gets a tart citrus boost from grapefruit vinaigrette, a farm egg is tossed in a delightfully-heavy celery cream with grilled bread for dunking and slow-braised rabbit heartily accents a bowl of grits. While there is a steak on the menu, don’t come in looking for safe dishes, the selection is limited and quite adventurous. Serious foodies will love it, but your chain-loving suburban cousin won’t have a clue.
