This popular downtown destination has won people over with its non-traditional Italian fare. Think pizza topped with paneer.

Awesome flavor & great atmosphere – We live about 2 miles from this pizza joint, and am so happy they've opened. The flavors are outrageously good, the crust is nice and crispy and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend trying them!

Horrible experience – I won't forget the dinner I attempted to have at this restaurant back on May 18.

I visited the Bombay Pizza Co. around 8:00 pm with my girlfriend. I ordered the K. Renee pizza and she ordered Purvi's Veggie Roll.

Her order came out minutes after she placed it, while I had to wait approximately 10 minutes for mine.

This service was already poor.

Once the pizza arrived, I ate one slice and began on a second when I didn't feel well. I deposited the already-chewed second slice into a napkin, asked a staff member where the bathroom was, and proceded to violently vomit into the toilet several times.

I recognized the odd sensation that I felt upon eating the pizza as a reaction to peanuts -- an unnamed ingredient in that dish. I complained to the two women who were working at the register. One of them protested that finding out allergen information was my responsibility and simultaneously showed that possible allergens were listed on the carryout/delivery menu.

I noted that I was dining in, so that information (which still neglected to identify the chutney in the pizza as a possible allergen carrier) was and is irrelevant to my dining experience.

Why would someone with a peanut allergy suspect that a pizza would contain the offensive legume? There is simply no reason for such a suspicion, and it is common practice for restaurants to identify foods that might contain peanuts.

I was unable to speak with the manager because he was on vacation. I left my complaint , name, and phone number with one of the employees. I was told that I would hear from him within 2 days. I have heard nothing.

I was thoroughly shocked and literally sickened by my experience at the Bombay Pizza Co. I have no intention of returning to this establishment.

While my evening cannot be redeemed, I sincerely hope that this establishment revises its menu in order to prevent a more serious allergic reaction in another consumer.

Disgusting.

Fantastic Pizza Fusion – We just ate at this place and were thoroughly pleased. The pizzas were so unique, light, and had the perfect blend of flavors to them with the fusion of indian and american. we had their paneer kati rolls and appetizers and those were also delish. We ordered the Sonu Rita and The Gateway of India, both were excellent. I especially liked the pizza dough which was a mix of indian naan and pizza flour, then they sprinkled sesame seeds on the end, OMG amazing!!!

We talked to the owners and staff to learn more about the company. This was a novel idea from the owner, no chef, no business background, just a genius idea... he created each menu item and I look forward to trying each one, yuuuuum! Everybody was so friendly, down to earthand welcoming. Theyre opening locations in missouri city and sugar land, cannot wait since thats our neck of the woods... Im going to tell everybody I know to about this gem!

AMAZING KATHI ROLLS!! SOGGY PIZZA! – Love to try new places and this one was on my mind for some time! I finally went to it and I have to tell you the paneer kathi rolls (basically a paneer wrap that is toasted?) are to die for!!! I am vegetarian and it just had so much flavor it was amazing!! I would definitely go to this place everyday if I could for those rolls. They have these rolls in new jersey and in the north but never have I seen them in houston! Try this once your lifetime!

We also ordered the pizza (half saag paneer, half sonu's rita) and it was really really soggy...not what you want in a pizza. I heard their pizza is good so maybe its just these particular ones that are extremely soggy? Maybe the non-veg are less soggy? I dont know but it was really bad that I couldnt even finish the last slice (and I am one to eat every last bit of my food no matter what!)

I am also interested in trying their Yogi's Veggie Masala Mini Burgers next visit! and of course will get the paneer kathi roll again!

Indian style pizza? Yes please! – This place rocks. Indian style pizza? Between Bombay Pizza and Cheeseberry, we've got the asian pizza theme nailed down in Houston. This place is on the first floor of a downtown office building, and yet it serves up some of the most original food in Houston. Imagine Indian food but thrown onto a naanish bread all pizza style and you have Bombay Pizza... it rules.

Delicious!! – This place is delicious and the service is superb! Even though it's an order-at-the-counter place, several waiters stopped by during our meal to ask how things were and to see if there was anything we needed. They even asked if the wine we brought worked well with our pizza. I highly recommend Bombay Pizza (whether or not you're an Indian food lover!), the pizzas are unique and delectable with fresh ingredients; we woke up the next morning craving our leftovers, though I'm surprised any made it home. The two of us ate half a 16" Gateway to India, so our $19 pizza ended up being two good meals for us. Don't forget that it's BYOB, and there is no corkage fee. And parking downtown on evenings and weekends is hassle-free (free Mon-Sat after 6pm), so there's no excuse not to go!

Great place for birthdays – The Slumdog Pizza, the Bombay Chicken, and the Indian Chili are my favorites and make you say, "Yuuum" with every bite. I went to their soft opening and have been there for a large birthday party with a karoeke dj. Viral, who used to manage La Strada, has a huge fanbase of movers and shakers who spice up the restaurant as well. The editor of H magazine gave Bombay Pizza a socialite spotting call for having plastic surgeons, corporate counselors, surgeons, news reporters, artists, and CEOs there. It is family-owned, so Support Local Grow Together (SLGT)!

Yummy and convenient – Have tried the Bombay Ranch pizza and the tuna salad. Both are very good. It's a very convenient location for lunch if you work downtown, and they even offer free delivery if you're too lazy to walk your butt over there. I love that they are open for dinner too because there aren't many casual eating places open for dinner in that part of downtown.

Unique twist to Italian food! – This is a new restaurant in downtown, right on main street. We tried it because it's one of the few restaurants that's open for dinner (open until 10pm during weekdays). We weren't that hungry so we got a salad with seared tuna (raw on the inside) and the marinara. The salad was just delicious (tuna was really good, my husband said he would come back for it). The marinara was one of the best we've ever had. It was different from the rest of the marinara pasta I've tasted because it had a hint of Indian spice - it was not overpowering. Just enough to make you realize it's nothing you've had before. Really yummy. The owner was really nice. He took our orders and the staff was great. They even told us they would deliver to our hotel for free, we just had to call it in.

Citysearch Editorial Review – This downtown lunch spot tops their pizza with Indian flavors like tandoori chicken and masala.
