Phillie's best BBQ & Margaritas!! – My family & I just enjoyed a trip back EAST! We had a wonderful dinner at this place, the Bar maid knew how to make the drinks- we tried the cucumber margarita as well as the Hawiian one & they were both fantastic!! I had the Shrimp & grits and they were the best- trust me - I lived in the south for yrs. and these were the best!! My son & husband had the hot wings- and they were HOT!! They also had the BBQ ribs- and really enjoyed them! There were 11 of us having dinner together and our waitress was really friendly and helpful. She kept up with us- that was important!!Oh yea- the Bread pudding & the fruit pastry with whip cream did not last long on the table either!! We would rate this a winner of a BBQ place right there in Phillie!!
Citysearch Editorial Review – Much like nearly every celebrated blues and barbecue joint on Memphis’ Beale Street, at Q, the sound of smokin’ hot radio Blues music lazily wraps itself around the sultry smell of slow-smoked meat and the smoky taste of the heart of the agave plant before drifting out the open glass doors to linger in the lively street beyond. Here in Old City, the owners, chef, layout, stained teak chairs, street-side patio and wrought-iron sculptures left over from Philadelphia Fish & Co., the 25-year-old stalwart Q replaced, reassure the late seafood restaurant’s patrons that not all refinement has died in this age of casual Fridays. But this is the Fish Company’s prep-school younger brother: Think sticky fingers covered in sauce, cold local, Mexican and mass-produced domestic beer; and tequilas, more than 60 and counting. This isn’t to say that Q’s smoky scents draw a rowdy crowd; in fact, many loyalists are the same tourists and patrons who frequented the Fish Company. Now they find a few things changed--a less expensive menu and meat versus seafood--but might be relieved to discover that cloth napkins and polished servers keep Q from descending into plastic-cup territory. And if those niceties matter to you, you’ll prefer Old City’s take on ‘cue to Memphis’ street-side sauce any day.
