Terrible service – Was very disappointed in this restaurant. Took my family after a show and thought the service was painstakingly slow. The food was mediocre, greasy and not as warm as some of the dishes should have been. They have $10 minimum order per person as well. My son wasn't feeling well and only wanted a chocolate shake. I had to order more food to make the minimum even though I knew he wouldn't eat it!

decent burger place... – So...this restaurant was introduced to me as " the best burger place in NYC" - well...I disagree about "the best"..

-while waiting to be seated they give you a small beeper-like thing that makes some noise when your table is ready

-friendly staff

-lots of space

-pleasant atmosphere

-small portions

-the meat in burgers is strange....it's juicy though but makes it difficult to eat without having this greasy juice all over you...

-the french fries tastes the same as in KFC

double charged my credit card - TWICE – burgers are good. staff is terrible. Given the poor service (yet I liked the convenience of the location and the burgers), I started doing 'pick-up" instead of dine-in. The first time I picked up my order from the bar (about 2-3 mos ago) I was double charged....I thought, just a simple mistake of putting in the bill 2x. No problem, these things happen. The next 2 times I got take-out I paid cash. THEN>>>>

This weekend I got take-out and mistakenly used my credit card and they double charged me AGAIN - and this time it was for a different amount and a nice 25% tip. Crooks. Not worth the hassle of needing to check if they are honest. Go somewhere else.

Upscale Burger Joint – It does take about 5 napkins to stop the meaty juice from soaking through! Ok I am exaggerating but the bustling meat market doesn't joke around about its patties.

5 Napkin is one of the upscale burger chains in the city. The burgers are pretty good here. I like how it is pretty big (10 oz) and comes with a full bar. This time, I chose not to order a regular burger because I was scared of the calories!

I got a lamb burger on salad instead; it actually had tons of dressing on top so I don't know if I actually got better off or not... But I am just glad while I ate meat, I got some fiber in me!! The salad was very flavorful and fresh. Lamb burger was meaty and seasoned quite well. My boyfriend got the usual bacon cheddar burger with fries and they are huge and juicy.

5 Napkin always keep us satisfied and happy. This is also one of the few burger joints where you could dine and drink.

Citysearch Editorial Review – With meat hooks swinging from the ceiling, you know you’re in for a carnivorous good time at this beef-focused bistro on the Upper West Side. As at the original Hell’s Kitchen location, the main attraction is the aptly named, super juicy “5 Napkin Burger,” which features plump, 10-ounce patties piled with caramelized onions and gruyere cheese, though other versions (like a tuna burger) are also available. And while the burgers are clearly the focus, white subway tiles and sleek red leather booths turn this neighborhood favorite into a bustling, unusually upscale burger joint, offering unexpectedly fancy cocktails (like the refreshing Tennessee Tea) and sushi to boot.

Such a great burger – Finally made it to 5 Napkin 84 this weekend and what an insane scene but worth it for that burger. We weren't able to make resies online at open table so we walked in. We were told it would be 20-25 minutes but were seated after about 15 minutes. It's pretty loud and has a great vibe although its very UWS in that there are a lot of kiddies. I had the original 5 Napkin Burger and split the onion rings. The burger pretty much soaks through the bun so you need about 50 napkins. But the burger, gruyere cheese, onions and aioli are the perfect combination. The onion rings and fries were nice on the side, but nothing comes close to being as memorable as that burger. My friend had the turkey burger which has Italian seasonings and while we all want to eat healthy on occassion, it just didn't measure up to the original. But she was happy with her selection. I'd love to come back once the excitement dies down a bit and try the shakes. Great burger spot!
