Citysearch Editorial Review – When the Italian owners of an Italian restaurant ship little old ladies from Italy to train their Italian-born chef on how to properly prepare food that’s imported from Italy, well, you’d have to expect a pretty fantastic Italian experience. This Piazza at Schmidt’s dining palazzo is as authentic as it gets, from the Umbrian lasagna recipe that’s been in one owner’s family for generations, to the table lined with free samples of European candy, to the aged Italian oils and vinegars that can be tasted then purchased for home use at up to $500 a bottle. The décor is equally as elaborate, with various spread-out levels for seating, courtly leather chairs, white cloth linens and an upscale bar that perches right in the dining area.
