Do not eat here – We took my wife to Saskatoon for her birthday. Saturday night. No one there. Should have been our first indication that the place was a lost cause. The women's bathroom had no running water for washing hands (broken faucet sensor we were told). On the menu, 'wild game' we were told meant veal and lamb! We decided on Saskatoon because it claimed to have wild game. I don't think I've ever seen a wild sheep or baby cow. We had to wait almost an hour--with 90% of the place empty--for our appetizers. They weren't served until I approached the server and asked about the food. Two of our party ordered coffee. No refill was ever offered. We were in the restaurant for an hour and a half...an hour an a half...before we got our main dishes. The food was hit and miss. Some of the food for our party was fine, even good, but some of it was awful. One of our party had pork 'tenderloin' that couldn't be cut with a knife. Another had trout that tasted like frozen tilapia. Subsequently we have had a dispute over the charges to our credit cards, and the manager had been completely unhelpful. There are so many great dining options in Atlanta. Don't spend your hard earned money on this place. For this kind of experience, the prices are outrageous.
RED Wine on White Dress – During the 4th of July weekend I attended an event at this Saskatoon on Pharr road. While standing at the bar a server spiller Red wine on over 40% of my white dress. I spent more than a hour trying to get that Red wine out of my dress. The server spilled the wine all over me. He stopped to correct the wine glass and kept moving. Other patrons in the immediate area started to help. I knew from that behavior I never wanted to visit this place again. When I spoke to the owner Yash Patel. He stated to me" You didnt have to clean your dress in this resturant. I stayed there for hours trying workout accept term for the replacement of my dress. We never did. I was asking them to replace the dress for $100.00 I gave them all the information about the designer and everything. I will have to pursue this matter legally.
Great Food and Service – What a great spot! The porch is awesome, the food is unique and very tasty. The service is excellent and they are very knowledgeable. If you haven't tried it yet, you should go!
A steakhouse with a focus on wild game. – In Short
There is something to be said for providing a type of dining experience that you really can’t get anywhere else in the city. And while, yes, this isn’t the only Saskatoon in the United States, it’s quite unique to Atlanta. Anchoring a corner of Pharr Road, the cozy decor mirrors their meat-happy menu that includes wild game. Animal heads adorn the wall, fireplaces crackle and white tablecloths give a classic, masculine stamp. While they have plenty of “normal” menu items, go for what got them there. A mixed grill plate gets an interesting rotating selection (lamb, duck, quail) while a daily trio of house-ground sausage is a perfect, sharable starter plate. Obscure items (yak, kangaroo) anchor the menu and they’re far better than one might expect, certainly warranting a try. Think of Saskatoon as a solid steakhouse that’s simply more interesting then the rest.
