Osteria Mamma

The rival to nearby Osteria La Buca sells comfort food Italian like house-made pizzas and pastas oozing with cheesy goodness and fresh sauces.

Fave LA Italian. Housemade pastas and sauces. In love with the gnocchi, Bigoli all’ Amatriciana, truffled pizza and the unbelievable tiramisu

Great homemade Italian food. The pasta and sauces are fresh. They also have squid ink pasta!

Absolutely amazing italian food, my favorite comfort food place in all of LA

If I was ever put on death row and had to make a request for my last meal, I would consider eating a meal from mamma osteria. The pasta are fresh and handmade everyday. They also have a nice wine selection. I don't normally drink but I like a sailor here. And last, the tiramisu is one of the best I've had.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Leaving behind restaurant Osteria La Buca for a more roomy restaurant of their own, "Mamma" and son Filippo Cortivo opened up this comfy, intimate eatery where specialty Italian dishes await. As guests dine on Arianna pizza topped with walnuts and truffle oil, and plates of polipolata (grilled octopus, celery, lemon and olive oil), soft Italian music wafts through the room. Black and white photos of Mamma in her heyday line the back walls, and on some low-lit nights, she can be found whipping up plates of pappardelle al fumo in the kitchen.
