Neighborhoods: Tribeca, Downtown
The largest of the locations of New York's most lauded wine bar, this location like the others offers an eclectic, almost nerdy wine list filled with unusual sherries, small-growth vineyards, and -- especially -- rieslings. A small but interesting menu of panini and small dishes by Hearth's Marco Canora insures you don't get too rocked by all the wine.
Citysearch Editorial Review – When a wine bar carries only one bottle of Bordeaux, but has a New York Riesling on tap, you know times are a-changing. Operating under the same quirky, anti-snob ethos of the original Terroir in the East Village, this Tribeca location is triple the size and has a full service kitchen. The vibe is bourgie but boisterous and young (for a wine bar), and the wine list eclectic, whimsically described and a lot of fun to explore, with most wines available by the half-glass. The food--red wine oxtail-risotto balls, bone marrow bruschetta, a veal and peppers sandwich--could stand on its own but is taken to another level with wine pairings.
