Not concerned with the health of their customers, can get yo – 'm writing this with the knowledge that this is a new eating place that just opened, so i should cut it some slack. But..this really got me angry.

I went to Mumbai Chopstix just a few hours ago with my boyfriend, who has dairy allergies. We had reservations. First, we get seated next to a crying baby on the top floor (which is nicer than the lower floor). So we got moved, to the lower floor. Which was fine, but we were seated next to the cashier, so all the time waiters were moving behind us. So we asked to get moved again.

And this is the part where got me really pissed. I asked to avoid dishes that had dairy in them. The waiter came back having checked with I guess the cooks, and said that all the dishes were none dairy. (Its not the waiters fault, its his first day and I guess he does not have that much knowledge of indian cooking.) But, the cooks obviously DID NOT KNOW WHAT NONE DAIRY means because they told the waiter that, and I was dubious because indian food has alot of dairy. I looked at the menu and PANEER is obviously CHEESE, LASSI is obviously YOGURT. and who knows what else. I'm just shocked at the cavalier attitude towards allergies, its pretty common and someone could DIE from it. I've never been to an eating place which served this wrong information, and now my boyfriend has a stomachache.

And its one of the most severe he's had and I'm worried sick, and we should have walked out of there once the mixup was made. I had tried to clarify twice with the place, and he is STILL sick. This never happens at any other restaurant we've been to. I suspect there was ghee in the dish but cooks don't know what non dairy is.

Other than that, the place was noisy, a table was moved passed us once, and the food was okay. Nothing really special I can't get at a chinese take out. And for the price, there was no rice with our chicken dish, so we had to add the order when our food came. Finally, when the check came, the wrong drinks were itemized. At that point I was so stressed I just wanted to get out of there.

I could cut slack for everything else, but the allergies part really makes me angry. If you want an eating place which is so caveliar about someone's health, feel free to go. Every other indian place we've gone to did not give us this problem.

Try the Lychee-lini – My cup runeth over. With lychee-linis. Think an indulgent lychee (is it a nut?) with the puree with prosecco. And their wine list and beer selection rocked too! They had UFO White! <3

I want to give a standing O to One World Cuisine because HELLO they hit this one out of the park; especially during their soft opening week. I can't wait to see what else is up their sleeves. I had been to Mantra before but this restaurant really surprised me. I'm not going to lie; I'm not a big fan of Indian food. I LOVE this Asian Indian fusion! Super spicy, tasty, texturey (yes, I make up words too), and extremely yummy. My fave were the wings of paradise, but they also have lobster balls (I didn't even know lobsters had balls...) and chicken satay among other things:)

What I'm missing is that their website isn't built out yet :( I can't peep the published menu!!! Work on that MC! I wanted to talk more about the yummies! You gotta try it.
