I have been a member at Punch as I have at many other gyms around the Tampa Bay area and all of the gym contracts are exactly the same. They are the same because they are all mandated by the state. The state approves the contracts that are used. If you sign a contract for a period of time then your have to pay for your time. They all have month to month if you don't want to sign a contract and they all have a clause where you have to give anywhere from 30-60 days notice to cancel. it's not hidden, it's very clear. Sounds like this girl just did not want to follow the rules her self. It's really sad that people that do not want to live up their end of the bargin go on line and bash business's like this because of their own ignorance! You should be ashamed. For those of you who want a great workout and enjoy a nice atmosphere then you should join. Ask questions about the contract, there is nothing hidden like I said. That girl is pitiful!!!
I was a member at Punch in Wesley Chapel and I had a great experience at the gym. The place is very clean, the trainers were very nice and understanding of your personal needs, and their customer service was very good. However, I had to quit the gym for personal reasons and when I contacted Mary for help, she was more than understanding of my situation and I have nothing but good things to say about this company.
I love to go online and read all the positive and/or negative comments/concerns on certain places. Especially if i plan on spending a considerate amount of money! i am glad to read about this company's contract agreement and have to admit, it really helped me make a decision about joining this gym. Hopefully they will use this to adjust their agreements in order to gain more clients.
If you are looking to be swindled join Punch Boxing for Fitness! I agree with the fact that the gym is fun, but the customer service is horrible. Make sure you read your contract closely because in order to cancel your membership you must send a written letter to their billing facility which will take 60 days to process! They won't accept faxes or emails in order to cancel. Now I will be responsible for paying for two months which I did not plan on using. When I called the gym directly they didn't care and asked me if I had a copy of my contract. I will make it a point not to send any business their way because they do not care about their clients unless they are getting their money. BEWARE
PUNCH IS AWESOME! – I joined Punch Jan of this year. All I can say is "WOW". In a month I was sporting a 4 pack, and feeling better than ever. I was in a car accident last year and couldn't go to the gym. Signed up for Punch and told Coach Chris about my injuries and he has helped me get back to pre-injury status. I have Chris to thank for that. He may be tough but boy do you get results. As for all these reviews about him only paying attention to the "pretty girls"... Such lies. He works with everyone. He has an up beat attitude and knows how to push you when you try to be a slacker. I have yet to come to the Punch and seen a bad attitude from Chris. Since I've been there I've seen trainers come and go. All I can say is that if Chris left, I would stop going....
Awesome Workout! – I have been going to Punch for about a year now and I love the workout! I don't like going to the gym because it can get so boring to work out on your own. I love Coach Chris' classes, he puts you through a tough workout but it's all worth it. I feel great after the classes and have seen the changes in my body. Chris assists everyone individually to make sure we are getting the best workout possible. It is so much fun, I recommend it to everyone!
I'm getting great results – I joined in January 2011. Since then I have lost 18 pounds, down 2 pant sizes, and getting muscle tone. Friends that I have not seen in a long time are blown away by the changes. I usally go to Coach Chris' class. He has given me instruction on how to do the exercises the correct way and encourages me to push myself to get the results that want. I think what I really enjoy the most is the various exercises that I have learned and the challenge that I face during each class. My wife also joined at the same time I did and she is getting great results also. It is a fun workout the we enjoy doing together. We thank Coach Chris for helping us get fit.
Speak the truth!! – I have been a member there since they opened and I have taken classes at all of the locations. First of all to all you writing reviews about Punch really think about what you are writing. All of you are of age and I am sure can read! You signed a contract that only has 14 items on it. Very clearly in section 7 it states the cancellation policy. There is no hidden verbiage there. When the contract is full filled all you have to do is give your 60 day cancellation notice in writing like it says. A billing service handles the accounts not a collection company. You are forwarded to a collection company once you have chosen not to pay for three months in a row. If you lose your job, do you call all your creditors and ask them to cancel the services because you lost your job?? I understand it is a gym membership but...you as an adult agreed to pay it. It is an agreement that you will pay your obligation that you sign up for. On behalf of Chris in Wesley Chapel, he has helped many "overweight" men and women that have come in and they have gotten amazing results. The class schedule has been the same since they opened besides the classes they have added because they are full of people who know what kind of results you get there. you get a class schedule when you go in to get information so read it before you sign up if you can not attend the times of the classes. You are able to come in at anytime when there is not a class and the trainers will help you through a workout. These are all the same things I was told when I signed up. I guess they just told me and not all of you..as for the pregnant girl, My wife is a member as well and we just had a baby. Lisa was very helpful in letting us know that the payment would still be paid which is not a problem because it is our obligation but that we would not lose any time on the membership so we are all paid up and now have the nine months my wife was out on bed rest as well.
Just pay your bills!! You are correct in saying do not sign up but only if you are someone who does not pay your bills!! Quit bad mouthing Punch and any other gym you go too just because you are trying to get out of your contract!! you people should be ashamed of yourself putting things like this online. Go get a job, you obviously need one..
Just horrible – First of all, unless you have double D's and a nice ass you will not get any personal attention from the trainers here. At the Wesley Chapel location the trainer there, Chris, only makes conversation with the young, beautiful girls , ignoring everyone else pretty much the whole time, unless you call his offensive remarks attention. Overall horrible service. Might as well just buy a punching bag and do this at home.
Contract nightmare and horrible customer service. – The gym is fun I can not lie about that, but to get out of that contract was horrible. When our year contract was over I called to cancel since my husband and I were unemployed and needed the money to survive until we found a job. They where total A-holes to us. They simply told me they didn't care about my situation and that by the way they were going to charge us for two extra months because they needed a 60 days cancellation notice and not only that we had to send a written letter to the collection company since they don't charge your credit card. They use a collection company from day one. Obiously they don't let you know that when you sign the contract. Also I had paid for a private class that was never able to use since I moved and they told me that they couldn't use that as part of the payment and they wouldn't return the money. Seriously don't do it unless you like being taken advantage of.
I am sorry that happened to you. I actually have the same situation going on and I spoke to Lisa and she was very helpful to me and we were able to work something out. They understand the economy is horrible right now. I understood the contract that you were responsible for the time you sign up for and you were able to give a 60 day notice prior to it being up. anyway good luck
