Citysearch Editorial Review – In 1988, go-go king Chuck Brown formed an all-star group called the Go-Go Posse, which recorded the song "D.C. Don't Stand for Dodge City" to raise awareness about the violent reputations associated with go-go clubs, particularly on U Street. It's only fitting that this bar, opened several decades later and during U Street's nightlife renaissance, is named after the song. Sharing an owner with the Velvet Lounge next door, the DJ lineup here proves that, much like the rest of U Street, this is another hangout for the hip. The first floor features a back bar and several bar stools and tables along exposed brick walls, and the turntables are upstairs next to a small dance floor and a second bar.
