Common courtesy? – Stopped in for a beer and a shot. Place is extremely small and claustraphobic and thus there is nothing really to look at but the bartender,Having said that, a little converation with bartender would have been appreciated but she was very busy so Ill give her a pass on that one. after 2 beers I ordered a shot of jameson and a third beer. $18 was taken from my pile without a word or acknowledgement of my existence. When I asked how much the "shot " was she replied it was a 2 1/2 ounces and $12! Bottom line-You dont have to be nice to me or even talk to me but you do have SOME responsibilities to your patrons. One of which could have been a heads up on the house practice of beefing up shots and charging DOUBLE !!! Times are tough and a little courtesy goes a long way. Will not be going back any time soon.
Citysearch Editorial Review – Part of the tiki revival that's a sub-trend of the craft cocktail movement, this bar brings the South Pacific fantasy to the deep Lower East Side. Tiki masks line the bamboo walls, while waitresses in tank tops take orders for daiquiris, mai tais and lesser-known tiki classics like the eponymous Painkiller. Don't expect strumming ukuleles, though--90's hip-hop, along with the graffiti murals on the walls, give this bar enough old-school L.E.S. flavor to keep the tropical kitsch at bay.
