My jacket and sweater were stolen here – Told the head waiter; he didn't seem too surprised. Spoke with the "owner"; she said she'd look into and call back but didn't. There's no coat-check and no indoor video cameras. On top of it all the food is mediocre and expensive and the service slow and indifferent. Suggest you go elsewhere.

Dirty place and very unprofessional staff – The pictures of Slaviya on their website are very deceiving. There are no so called "VIP" area or tables to begin with! Very dirty and dingy place with unprofessional and dishonest staff including the owner himself.

If you are going there for a concert- DON'T!!! The VIP tickets never include dinner like they promise/advertuse or a table itself.I guess the owner still thinks that he is in Eastern Europe and can do whatever he wants in order to make money. Disgusting!

Great Spot to relax, eat and drink – I am going to be honest. This place rocks. It is truly brings the Eastern European feel to it. The food is very South-East European and it's delicious. I am from Bulgaria and have missed having Balkan dishes and grills.

In reponse to the other review here "don't bother ordering beer" - I will firmly disagree -- these guys have made a huge effort to server all the Eastern European beers you can imagine: Obolone, Magnum, Lasko Pivo, Zagorka, Shumensko.... I would say this is the place to have a good Eastern European beer.

Lastly, as I am from Eastern Europe, I like my waiters to be more "real". A lot of the waiters are from Eastern Europe and they will treat you right but not fake a smile. I listed this as a con, but I think it's a great thing to have some sincerity.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Slaviya, an Eastern European restaurant and lounge on the Adams Morgan strip, pulsates with energy even during the quiet dinner hours. Three huge flat-panel televisions, two full bars and four sectioned lounge seating areas make this Croatian- and Bulgarian-inspired enclave a roomy and entertaining space for large groups. The slick, clubby atmosphere--shiny white bar tops and sleek gray-and-crimson walls--picks up around 10pm as the lights dim. After midnight, Slaviya transitions into a club with a DJ spinning house music or a venue for one of the monthly live performances. And don't bother ordering a beer, this is a liquor kind of place.
