Citysearch Editorial Review – There is no shortage of hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Seattle’s International District neighborhood, but Ton Kiang manages to set itself apart in two major ways. In a good way with distinctly good food, and in a bad way with a seating area so unadorned it’s almost prison-esque. The meat, which is proudly displayed in the storefront window, is a well-executed variety of Cantonese-style barbecue dishes, including the stars of the genre, duck and pork. If you’re willing to overlook the dingy setting in order to enjoy simple preparations that exemplify the natural flavors of the meat, there is no better place in the city than Ton Kiang.
