Worst dining experience ever – I live two blocks from the restaurant, and really wanted to like it. Been there a few times now. The food tries to be fancy and different, and is actually fine. The atmosphere is chic and modern, tries very hard to be cool. Service is very slow, but tolerable... to a point.
However, I never realized how important service is to your experience. I was there for a birthday party, and there was a disagreement between the waiter and a diner over a food allergy issue. In the blink of an eye, it escalated into a screaming match that silenced the entire restaurant! We were stunned!
The "manager" came over, and instead of defusing the situation, she actually escalated it (the screaming waiter was actually an assistant manager!). It was like a train wreck, getting worse and worse by the minute. In the end, we ended up paying the full bill and leaving without eating. We are a very quiet and reserved group of people, but were made to feel like we were crazy psychopaths.
The worst dining experience I have ever had in my LIFE. Just incredible.
(After reading some more reviews, it is obvious that the staff is the weak point here. You just can't have waiters, chefs, or managers yelling at the customers! Never seen anything like it.)
This place is fantastic! – My friends and I went into Noche for a bday celebration and we couldn't have picked a better restaurant. The vibe is chic, modern, and the staff incredibly attentive and friendly. While we waited for our party to gather, we sat at the bar and were immediately approached by the bartender, who was super friendly and funny. Noche's cocktail list were great, I had the Appleton Fizz, which reminded me of an exotic mimosa. Excellent! When the party arrived we were promptly sat and couldn't be happier with the attention. Their menu looked great, with interesting combinations of Latin, Asian, and American. I had the tuna tartare for appetizer which was delicious, and for main dish I had their Sea Bass, which was by far, the best fish I've ever had.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who's into hot spots, a vibrant bar scene, young beautiful looking crowd, and excellent cuisine. Very NYC-Tribeca style scene.
Citysearch Editorial Review – A boon to night(life) owls, Noche combines a retro-chic South Beach vibe with a decor inspired by phases of the moon and neighborhood-friendly service. The romantically loungey ’70s are evoked (in a sophisticated way) with elegant banquettes in cream leather with velvet burnout backs, chocolate-colored walls, indirect lighting and cork-composite floors. The menu’s studded with old-horse plates like blue fin tuna and Chilean sea bass, but Noche’s standouts include stuffed jalapenos, ceviche with crisp plantains, and Manchego-whipped potatoes that rival any tuber in the city. Try the cucumber gimlet, blending Hendrick's gin, St. Germain and orange bitters--a fitting sip for any night.
