Loved it! Will def come back! – I walked past this restaurant, looked at the menu and was hooked. Adorable setting, below street level, has a front bar witha sitting area around a fireplace. Cozy! The restaurant is further back, also very cozy with a variety of tables and booths, big skylight. Bonus: backyard outdoor seating! It was drizzling when i was there, otherwise i wouldve eaten out there. Ok on to the food, we really enjoyed everything. I had gazpacho which is one of my all time faves, it was spicy and had avocado slices on top. Highly recommend. I had a portobello cap as my main, it was grilled and on a pretzel dough bun. My hubby had a bratwurst, said it was great, also with a bun made of the pretzel dough. Prices were veryy reasonable. Will definitely come back! Oh and the waitress was sweet too. The website shows a nice brunch menu.

Citysearch Editorial Review – The warm atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty food at a decent value make this below street-level restaurant a perfect go-to spot. The place serves up a variety traditional American-style eats with an inventive spin, resulting in mouth-watering originals like the watermelon, prosciutto and feta appetizer. The West Village spot is also known for its flavorful burgers, as well as its selection of fish, pastas and salads. What really sets the place apart, though, is the ambiance--the mix of dark furniture and dim (but not too dim) lighting amongst exposed brick and a full fireplace creates a cozy and romantic feel not usually seen on 14th Street east of 9th Avenue.
