Reviews for Evoe

This brilliant little open kitchen and wine bar inside the Hawthorne Pastaworks turns out consistently exquisite small plates and snacks like the soft scrambled eggs and morels over toast and nettle and sheeps' milk ricotta gnocchi. Even the deviled eggs are a revelation. Choose your wine from the wall chalkboard or go pick any bottle from Pastaworks' wine section for a paltry $5 corkage.

Any day but Tuesday is a great day to grab lunch or an early evening nosh at this causal temple to small plates and snacks. Pick up a bottle of wine at adjoining Pastaworks to enjoy with your meal and there is just a $5 corkage fee.

Evoe @ Pastaworks – Couples looking for a breezy lunch or singles in search of after-work charcuterie and wine feel equally at home. Adjoining Pastaworks, the space feels more cooking school than restaurant. Pull up a stool at the counter or one of the communal tables, pick a few items from the chalkboard menu and watch the magic unfold. Dishes are prepared to order in the small open kitchen and range from a daily hot special (ex: pan-fried quail w/porcini and fennel) to a Spanish-style sardine and hot pepper sandwich or a thin shaved artichoke salad. Flavors are fresh and unadulterated. Beer and wine available by the glass, or by bottle purchase from Pastaworks (wine = $5 corkage).
